a/n: Well it's been nearly an hour since the new decade started! Hopefully I'll get a life now oops

Warnings: cursing, mild violence

Why did I say yes why did I say yes why did I-

"WOOHOO!!" Richie screamed as we tumbled down a hill, over the palace wall. The guards horses neighed as they yanked them back, watching the dirty low life and me, the supposed perfect princess, follow lead.

"I'M GONNA DIEEEEEEE!!" I cried out, squeezing my eyes shut, expecting a rather rough impact. Instead, two warm arms locked around me, pulling my body towards their chest to act like a shield.

Slowly but surely, I peeled my eyes open, squinting as I attempted to make out the face mere inches away from me. With his arms on either side of my head, Richie grinned, letting out a breathy laugh as I groaned in complaint.

"You know, princess, I'm starting to get the feeling you like me." He winked, holding his tongue between his teeth ever so slightly. I groaned yet again, shoving him off of me so he'd roll to the side.

"I'm starting to feel as though you're a real pain in the ass." Folding my arms, I stared at the sky above me. From now on, I'll be considered a run away. No more lavish parties. No more fine feasts. No more dress fittings. NO MORE PENNYWISE!

As if pushing me down a steep hill wasn't enough, Richie interrupted my pleasant thoughts with a gentle flick to my arm, "It's all in the name darling, should've read the fine print." He offered another cheeky grin, watching as my eyebrows furrowed together in annoyance. This boy likes to think he's all that huh?! Well little does he know, I am quite skilled in shoving my foot far up people's-

"Well would you look at the time, we should really get going! We're not quite out of the kingdom you know." Somehow sensing my anger, he leaped up before I could do anything, offering a sheepish grin as I picked myself up off the ground. He scanned my outfit, nodding to himself a tad, "We should get you to a friend of mine, can't have people recognize that gorgeous face of yours now can we?" With a quick wiggle of the brows, he snatched my hand and took off once more. Can he warn a girl next time?!

By the time we stopped, we reached the kingdom's village, where shops were open and many sellers looking for the perfect opportunity to seize their moment, or shall I say pray. Stumbling a bit, I found myself looking around in awe. Truthfully, I've never ventured down here before, it was truly magnificent! So much life seeping out from every eye I glanced at. Perhaps...perhaps I was wrong about Derry? Maybe it's just the king that's truly helpless.

Richie grabbed my hand once more, looking back with a small smile, "It's not much, but it's more than we had." He admitted truthfully, looking around at surrounding shoppers. I couldn't help but take the time to truly look at him, and I can't lie, it wasn't all bad. Behind his obnoxious attitude, he was quite handsome, big doe eyes and curly hair that framed his face. Tall too, that's always a plus.

An elderly woman suddenly approached us, joy hinted in every crinkle of her eye as she lit up at the sight of Richie, "Oh my dear Micheal!" She cooed, bringing him into a gentle, cradling hug. Richie glanced back at me, a light pink dusting his cheeks. Once she let go, he took the opportunity to lean back and whisper in my ear.

"I'm not her grandson, obviously, he's back in the palace jail. She's so frail, I couldn't bear to tell her, so I go along with it to make her happy until Micheal can come back." Richie placed a loving hand on her shoulder and led her back to her shop, which was run by her daughter. The young woman thanked Richie, and quickly tended to her mother, lightly scolding her for wandering off.

I gaped up at Richie, unable to form any words as my mind raced. Just moments ago, I considered him to be an expert criminal wanting me for ransom, but now that I've actually gotten to know him, he's far from dangerous as they portray him to be.

"Right then, where were we? Oh! Yes, disguise! Come on, princess!" Richie led me down a narrow alley way, dodging random people as they came through. Finally, we arrived at a secluded building, no sign of life inside. Richie looked around carefully, before knocking three times, exactly three seconds between each. A slot ripped open, and panicked eyes peeped through.

"Who's there?!" They questioned, suspiciously glaring at the hidden street. I shuffled nervously, looking to Richie for help as he leaned against the door.

"Your mother, who the fuck else would it be??" Richie responded, rubbing his eyes tiredly as the slot closed and the sound of locks opening could be heard. Once the door opened, it revealed a boy our age, with short brown hair and quite the anxious eyes.

"Don't even fucking joke around like that, Rich, you know my mom would-"

"Richie? Who's this?" A girl spoke, walking up behind the young boy as she dusted off her hands. Richie grinned, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Bev! I was hoping you were here! Right, so this may or may not be the princess and she needs your help blending in." He clasped his hands together, his eyes reading the purest of please I'd ever seen.

I shyly waved, biting the inside of my cheek to keep myself from freaking out. Oh god, what if they think I'm a snob? Or a spy? Or worse...a traveling circus! Yikes.

Beverly clapped, pulling me forward in a rush as she let out a small squeal of delight, "About time there's a girl around here! I don't know how many more fart jokes I can take.." She shivered, looking off into the distance as if she were having a flashback.

"You said they were funny!" Richie protested, ignoring Eddie's obvious snickers. Bev rolled her eyes, waving him off as she dragged me towards the back. I would have probably laughed too if it weren't for how nervous I was. I never did good in dress fittings, I can't bare to imagine her measuring me and-

"Here try this on." Beverly threw a pair of clothes at me, watching as I studied them in confusion. "We look about the same size so, let me see them on!" She shrugged, crossing her arms as she stood to wait.

After some criticism from Bev, she finally let me go after the 'perfect outfit' so she put it, was secured on me, including the hood to hide even more. She led me out to the boys, who's bickering hadn't stopped since we left prior. I chuckled softly, watching as Richie softly froze, and turned to me with such gentle eyes. Eddie pointed that out, laughing at his face but Richie didn't even hear him, he was too entranced.

"I thought people were supposed to look bad in commoner clothes..." Richie took a few steps forward, his eyes not once leaving my body.

"HEY!" Beverly scoffed, but yet again, it fell on deaf ears as Richie finally stood in front of me, a brilliant smile on his features.

"But," He lifted his hand to my cheek, looking into my eyes as I couldn't help but gape, "you look impossibly gorgeous..." We both found ourselves leaning in, our eyes fluttering as we couldn't help but get lost in the moment. His breath fanned my lips as he cradled my face, his thumb swiping over the soft blush on my cheek as time slowed, all was perfect...

"THIS WAY! A VILLAGER REPORTED THE KIDNAPPER FLEEING DOWN THIS ALLEY, COME ON NOW MEN!" A knight shouted, causing us to jolt apart.

"You have got to be kidding me....FU-"
