"Percy, honey?"

Percy glanced up from his guitar. A ghostly smile traced his lips as he stared into a familiar pair of grey eyes.

"Hey, Princess," Percy replied softly.

Annabeth popped open the sliding door and slipped out onto the balcony.

"You okay? You've been out here for hours. Its freezing and it's almost midnight," Annabeth pulled a hoodie over her shivering body.

Percy sighed and strummed a note sadly on his acoustic guitar. "I'm just trying to work out the last little bit of this song."

Annabeth gave a small chuckle and sat down across from Percy. "Well, may I hear it?"

Percy tapped his foot nervously against the pavement of the balcony and bit his lip hesitantly. "I don't know, Beth... it's not the best, and it's not finished."

Annabeth moved forward, coming closer to Percy. She stared at him with a loving look, her eyes sparkled in the glowing lights of Manhattan. The moon illuminated a light splash of freckles on her nose. "Percy. I'm sure it's amazing."

He smiled. Annabeth sat down and nodded at him, encouraging him to begin.

Percy strummed a not gently on his guitar.

"Baby to the moon and back, I still love you more than that."

Percy's soft voice filled the air, swept away in the wind. Annabeth snuggled closer into her sweater.

"When your skies are grey... and your whole world is shaking."

His long and nimble fingers carefully strummed delicate chords on his guitar. Sea green eyes crashed with stormy grey ones.

"To the moon and back, I love you more than that."

Percy glanced up into the sky, his voice rising into the dark night.

"We may fall but we'll keep on going. We may break but we won't stay broken."

Annabeth gave a content sigh.

"Through the cracks in the road, the flowers grow."

Percy continued, his voice growing in volume, in passion.

"Before you see our storm clouds forming, and when the sun won't rise in the morning..."

He faltered. Percy stared at Annabeth, at the small smile splayed across her perfect lips. His fingers hovered over the guitar strings.

"You should know..."

Percy leaned over to Annabeth. He cupped her face lightly in his hands and planted his lips against hers. The kiss was soft and slow, quiet and passionate.

Percy pulled away, breathing hard. He pressed his forehead against Annabeth's and sang out the last line of the song.

"Baby to the moon and back, I will love you more than that."

Annabeth kissed his cheek lightly, her lips lingering against his skin.

"When your skies are grey and your whole world is shaking."

Percy's hands slowly pulled away from Annabeth's face. He gave a bright smile.

"To the moon and back, I'll love you more than that."
