I straddled his waist as I looked into his teasing eyes. I tried to read his mind but my concentration faltered as his large hands wrapped around waist.

“What are you doing?” I asked nervously.

“Do you trust me?”

“Not as far as I can throw you,” I said immediately.

He started laughing, next thing I knew he had me on my back as he hovered over me.

“How about now?” he asked as his lips hovered over mine.

I shook my head no. My mind fogging over with how close he was.

His lips moved down to my neck, “And now?”

I couldn’t breathe as his lips brushed my skin, “Stop,” I moaned.

“Why?” he asked as his lips brushed my jawbone.

“My mom will hear,” I whispered, not trusting my voice.

He laughed, “We’re both consenting adults.”

“Yea, I’m an impressionable teenager, and you’re an old man,” I laughed out without thinking.

He nipped at the skin of my throat making me freeze.

“Julian?”

He swung us around so I was on top again.

“That’s not funny,” he said with his arms crossed.

“You know it is,” I giggled, swatting his arms.

Before I knew what was happening he pushed me over the edge of the bed. We were both falling and I was seconds away from being crushed.

Somehow, he turned us so I landed on him and he was on the floor with a huge thud.

He started chuckling softly, suspiciously. I just glared at him trying to get up but he wrapped his arms around my back so I couldn’t.

“Chloe?” I froze in his arms.

“Yes?” I called out, looking Julian directly in the eyes.

“Are you all right? I heard a noise,” the doorknob started to turn.

“Yes, mom,” I called trying to pull out of Julian’s arms but he wasn’t having it, “I’m fine. Just fell out of bed.”

It stopped turning, “Okay, sweetie, be down for breakfast in a half hour.”

“Okay!”

I glared into Julian’s amused eyes after she walked away from the door.

He sat up, making me straddle his lap, “Well, that was fun. But I think it’s about time we get going.”

“What?” I asked as he pushed me up so I was standing.

“I thought you’d be happy to get home to your puppy,” he said, his voice borderline angry.

Home, his words repeated in my head.

“That’s not the point,” I mumbled as I headed towards my bathroom.

He grabbed my arm and turned me around, “What is the point?”

He definitely crossed into angry town.

“I can’t just leave,” I pleaded.

“You did it before,” he argued.

I looked into his eyes for a long moment, trying to see my future in them.
