In late January, it was rumoured that singer sensation, Mayse Son of NCT would be going on hiatus after her Asia and North America Tour, Royal City finishes in April.
The tour however was sadly postponed after the breakout news of the coronavirus and full refunds were made to every ticket purchase under the request of Mayse, herself.
Since the postponing, Mayse has gone silent with her solo career, only appearing to the public during her promotions with project girl group, PANDORA.
On February 6th, it was announced through SM Entertainment's official website that Mayse had ended her tour due to high alerts of coronavirus and would be going on hiatus until further notice.
Here is SM's statement: "Hello this is SM Entertainment speaking,
We are sad to announce that our artist, Mayse Son's tour: Royal City, with the consent of our artist will be concluded.
Everyone who has purchased a ticket for the shows in China and onwards will receive a full refund and care package in the next few weeks containing goodies hand picked by Mayse, herself.
Regarding the rumours of her hiatus, we are here to announce them as true.
After deliberating with Mayse for months leading up to her tour, we have come to the agreement that Mayse shall be going on hiatus to rest and relax after promoting with PANDORA in early February and will continue on with her CEO duties.
We hope fans understand and wish her the best of luck with JW Entertainment.
Thank you."
After SM released their statement, Mayse took it upon herself to address the situation to her fans through her personal Instagram account ( @maysesonxo ).
Her letter reads: "Hello, this is Mayse.
I am deeply sorry for the fans who have saved and spent so much money in order to see me perform and interact with me. Sadly due to the high alerting on coronavirus, I had to postpone my concerts and ultimately cancel the entire tour. I am just as upset as my Royals are about this news.
To pay back for disappointing my fans, I will be refunding everyone's well earned money and care package containing a signed album, limited edition merchandise and a hand written letter sending you my deepest apologies for the sudden cancellation.
Yes the rumours of my hiatus are true. I will be spending my time resting and focusing on my CEO duties as well as resting.
I wish everyone a good day and I love you all very much."

팬들에게 실망을 갚기 위해 서명 된 앨범, 한정판 상품 및 손으로 쓴 편지가 포함 된 모든 사람의 돈과 간호 패키지를 환불하여 갑작스런 취소에 대한 가장 깊은 사과를드립니다.
