It was the day after Taz had saved me from the robots, I was sent back home since all the killer robots had been defeated but Taz was sent to hospital so her injury could be dealt with properly.

Taz <3 hey, you okay?

y/n yeah im good

y/n well as good as you can be after nearly being killed by robots

y/n are you okay? I heard you got sent to hospital

Taz <3 yeah, I've got to have a small operation but I'm mostly okay

Taz <3 my commander said that I can have a month to rest before going back to the starship

y/n which hospital are you at?

Taz <3 the one in downtown

Taz <3 why do you ask?

y/n do you want me to come and visit you?

Taz <3 oh my dead god yessss, that would be great thank youu

Taz <3 there is a minor problem though

Taz <3 this is going to sound really stupid but i'm not really out of the closet yet, my commander fought with me in the robot wars so he's a pretty close friend and he's the other other person who knows i'm gay, and since some family members will be visiting me in hospital, you can't really show or say anything about the fact that we're more than friends

Taz <3 also when my family are there you'll have to call me tasmina, they aren't very keen on people calling me taz, although i hate when people call me tasmina

I walked down the stairs and went to go out the door when my parent interrupted me.

"Where are you going?"

"My friend was hospitalised after the robot attack and I want to visit her in hospital"

"Fine, but be back soon"

"Okay I will"

I exited my house and began walking to the hospital.

*time skip*

"I'm here to see Tasmina Lopez" I said to the receptionist

"Relationship to the patient?" he asked

"Best friend" I replied, expecting not to be let in

"Okay, shes in room 22 along the left corridor and could I quickly get your name so I have record of when you visited"

"y/n s/n"

"Okay thank you"

I half expected the receptionist to be like "yOu cAnT viSiT uNlEss yOuRe fAmiLy" but he thankfully let me visit her. I took his directions and walked down the left corridor and made my way to room 22. I knocked politely on the door and was let in by a nurse.

"y/n!" Taz smiled at me

"excuse me" the nurse said politely "what's your relationship to the patient?"

Before I could speak, Taz said "girlfriend, but you can't mention that she's my girlfriend when my family are here"

"okay that's fine, I completely understand, would you like me to let you know when your family sign in at reception?" the nurse asked

"yes thank you very much" Taz replied

"I'll leave you two alone for a minute to talk but I should be back before your family arrives, Tasmina"

I could tell that Taz cringed from the use of her full name. "Okay thank you" she replied smiling and the nurse exited. As soon as the nurse was gone, Taz pulled me into a kiss. The kiss was more desperate and passionate than previous ones but I didn't mind. After a little while, she pulled away.

"Sorry, but I've missed you" she smiled at me.

"I've missed you too" I replied, sitting down in the chair next to the bed. I held her hand, intertwining our fingers.

"So...you told the nurse that I'm your girlfriend" I said

"Y-yeah, I thought saying "awkward complicated romantic kind of relationship that started yesterday" would have been too long" she joked.

"Yeah, when you're better do you think that we could...go on a date sometime?"

"Yes of course"

The nurse entered the room again.

"Tasmina, your family just checked in at reception so I advise you to stop holding hands with your partner" the nurse joked, it was nice having such an understand nurse. Taz reluctantly let go of my hand and I stood up from the chair.

*time skip*

Finally, Taz's family left and it was just me and her alone again since the nurse went to deal with another patient.

"Oh my fucking dead god, I thought they'd never leave" Taz exclaimed

"Yeah, they were here for so long"

"Sorry" she laughed a bit

"Why are you sorry?"

"My family are just embarrassing and shit, and I felt bad that we had to keep us a secret" she emphasised the word 'us'

"It's completely okay, I understand that you can't tell them about your sexuality and I'm okay with that because if you aren't ready to come out or it's not safe then you shouldn't come out yet"

"You're the best" she held her arms out to show that she wanted a hug. I melted into the hug and just didn't want to let her go, I think I love her but I definitely wouldn't tell her that yet. She pulled away from the hug and I sat down in the chair again but as soon as I did, the nurse entered.

"I'm very sorry but visiting hours are over for today" she said.

"Oh okay" I put my jacket back on

"Bye y/n" Taz seemed so disappointed that I had to go.

"Bye Taz, I love you" I said while being shown out by the nurse. Tears welled up in Taz's eyes.

"I love you too"
