Chapter 29

Alex's POV

"Mia!" I started banging on the elevator door like crazy.

Many people were staring at me weirdly, one of the nurses tries to stop me from banging the door.

"Sir, please stop banging the elevator door! You're making a disturbance," One of the nurses said. The others try to grab my arms and shoulders from moving, but I shook off their hands and start running down the stairs.

'Please... Don't let her leave yet!' I thought as I hurriedly climbed down the stairs.

I arrived at the ground floor and start looking around. Panting, I approached the medical desk.

"Ma'am, did you see a short blonde-haired girl somewhere? Wearing a large black jacket?" I asked.

"She exits the door just now," She pointed at the door, I quickly bowed as a thank you and ran towards the doors.

I opened the door and saw no signs of Mia. I continuously ran for god knows how long.

But I still couldn't find her.

I hold back those tears, not wanting to make a scene. I'm also shivering a little from the cold wind.

I felt something cold on my nose.

It's a snowflake...

I looked up and almost all of them started to fall from the sky.

"Alexander! Sir! There you are!" Yu got out of the brand new car, he bought it with his own money, with a fuzzy jacket. He wraps the jacket around me and leads me back to the car.

"Good thing I found you! I was so worried that you might collapse," He gave me a worried look.

"Yeah..." I mumbled.

"Are you alright, sir? You look pretty spaced out..." He said as he looked at me at the passenger window.

"I didn't catch up to her Yu... She disappeared again..." I sighed in disappointment.

I looked out the window, and watch all these beautiful crystallized snowflakes falling.

"Do you think she will enjoy looking at these snowflakes?" I questioned Yu.

"It depends," He said in a straight forward face, he also added, "A friend once told me that once a snowflake landed on your nose, it means that the girl you are destined to be with is nearby!"

The girl I am destined to be with, huh?

I chuckled at that thought and gaze at the window, staring at the kid's reaction to the falling snowflakes, couples walking together side by side, and others just gazing at the snowflakes fall.

Smiling, my mind begins to think about Mia's reaction when she sees these snowflakes.

Mia's POV

"Honey, look at those snowflakes!" I happen to overheard a middle-aged woman next to me, exclaiming happily to her husband while sitting on a bench.

"Remember the time that we both got stranded, hun?" The guy wrapped his arm around the lady.

"Mhm, it's so cold that time and we ran out of gas at that time," She said and smiled.

'How could they be happy if they were stranded in an unknown place...?' I imagined and sighed.

Something cold landed on my nose that made me clear out of my thoughts, it's a snowflake.

"Oh my, it looks like the snow came earlier this year!" The woman stretched her hand out to catch the falling snowflake.

The man chuckled and nodded his head, "Every time I look at this white, falling snowflakes, I remember an old saying from my grandmother," The woman looked at him with confusion, "If a snowflake landed on your nose, the person you're destined to be with is somewhere near."

"How can you even tell which person you are destined to?" She asked and giggled.

I stepped away from the couple, not wanting to hear the conversation further.

Love? Destiny? That's just a phony word to say...

Love is just toying with us... Getting together with the person you love, until they starting to get tired of you.

Love? That's no such thing as 'love' here, brat!

The voice of my mother suddenly popped into my head. I shake my head, trying to get back to my senses.

I opened my hand and a little snowflake landed on my palm.

There's no room for "that"; I know that a long time...
