The Truth

Seeing her best friend like this was heartbreaking for Amy. She went up to Faryn and gave her a hug.

"It's okay, Faryn. I'll help you find a girl who'll love you."

"When I said I didn't have feelings for anyone, I lied again."

"Why do you keep lying to me, Faryn? I'm here for you, I wanna help help you!"

"I lied 'coz you wouldn't like the truth."

"I don't like that you're not telling me the truth. What is it that's been bothering you the last couple of days? You've been so different. It's scary to see you like this, Faryn. It really is."

"I've been feeling something."

"What have you been feeling?"

"I think."

"Yes?"

"I think."

"Go on, Faryn. You can do it."

"I... I think I'm falling in love."

"With who, Faryn?"

"With you, Amy."

Amy was shocked, to say the least.

"Are... Are you sure?"

"Yes. I'm falling in love with you, Amy."

"I have something to confess," said Amy. "I think I'm falling in love with you, too."

"What?!" screamed Faryn. "Are you mad?"

"No. I'm not mad. I've been falling in love with you, Faryn."

"You have a boyfriend, though. How's Bill gonna react?"

"You know he loves both of us, Faryn. We're like the sisters he never had. He would be happy for us, his best friends."

"It'd break his heart, Amy."

"He'd get over it. You know what he's like? I've seen his eyes wander many times, Faryn. He'll get over me pretty quickly. He loves us. He just wants us to be happy."

"Do you know what this means, Amy?"

"What?"

"It means you'll be coming out as a lesbian," said Faryn. There were still tears in her eyes.

"I know. But this is how I feel. I love you, Faryn."

"I love you too, Amy."

With that, they started kissing. Slowly. Passionately.
