Shizukana's P.O.V

Just like father promised he took me to the library and got me a Civilian access card.

I walked past the Librarian and went to look at the shelves.

All the books available to Civilians are just at the tip of my fingers.

I giggled in glee at the thought of all the books. Yes, I giggled.

Dad was chatting away with the librarian. She was young. She looked at least 20 years old.

I took a book that was the closest to me. 'Political History of The Leaf.'

Well, it's a start.

So this is what I have been doing fir the rest of the year. Waking up in the morning, having breakfast and walking to library.

Mom and Dad were hesitant on letting me go alone. But in the end they agreed.

I would sometimes leave after lunch and come back before dinner. Or well, I would loose track of time and Mom or Dad has to fetch me.

Now things are different. The librarian, Hanako-chan has been picking me up and dropping me from my house.

Every morning she would come by my house and leave with me. Mom would sometimes pack us lunch. Then she would drop me back at 7pm.

At 7 she would stand near the gate and Mom or Dad would go and talk to her. It was routine. Dad would leave at 6am and come at 5pm. But if he gets late then we have dinner at 8pm and get to bed.

Mom would stay at home or go to her friends house. It was daily routine.

Mom and Dad accepted the fact that there was nothing stopping me from visiting the library. One day, I got sick and couldn't leave the house. The staff workers got worried and Hanako-chan and one of the staff members came to the house to see if I was okay.

See, Daily Routine. Until that dreadful night.

I woke up as usual at 7am. I dressed in a green t-shirt and a grey skirt that reached my knees. Underneath were my black shorts. (I hate wearing dresses and pink.)

I had breakfast and Hanako-chan came by and picked me up. I said goodbye to Mom. Dad had left early in the morning. Something about a rogue nin from Kumo.

We walked through the streets and entered the library. I greeted the staff and made my way towards my table. Yes, I had a table. I came everyday except on Sundays. It's been a year

I picked up the book about the economical status in Konoha.

I had read the History, Political and Trading business of Konoha. I had also covered all the books regarding Wars and International affairs. I also read about the Clans in Konoha. The books in the Civilian section weren't very detailed but i managed to get a clear picture on all the Clans. I thought that if I became familiar with Konoha then it would be easy to focus on my academic career. No doubt being a ninja was in my future since civilians are in more danger. Being a Shinobi means, being able to protect yourself and the others around you.

I couldn't protect my family, i will do it now.

I read and read it was time for lunch. The staff ate with me and they let me ask all sorts of questions. At first, they were surprised at my knowledge and vocabulary skills but it began to wear off and they sometimes answered.my questions.

After lunch I continued to read.

I sucked in the words. It was all fine until at around 6.15.

It had gotten dark and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. I don't know if it is instinct but something is wrong.
