Chapter 25: Return of the Overlord

The Ninja find Dr. Julien on the Endless Sea's shore.

"What was that sound? The horns?" Julien questioned

"The Celestial Clock has reached zero. Garmadon's ultimate weapon is now operational and the Final Battle between good and evil has all but begun" Wu replied

"Now Lloyd must face his father" Misako said

"But where's Nya?" Julian asked

"She's been taken by the Overlord, but we'll get her back. At the moment, there are bigger things at stake, including all of Ninjago itself" Wu answered "Lloyd, your focus gives strength to invoking the power of the Golden Dragon. You cannot lose faith now. Everything rests on your shoulders."

"But Sensei, you saw what happened when I tried to face my father. I-I froze. I can't fight him" Lloyd said sadly

"You must. It is written in the scrolls" Wu insisted

"Remember, your father is just as scared" Misako reminded him

Wu nodded "Then the battle will be decided by who is willing to fight"

"What's written in the scrolls is that the green and purple ninja fight together" Lloyd argued

"Have faith in Aria" Wu tells him "she will come"

"she's your best friend after all" Misako smiles "has she ever left you?"

Lloyd shakes his head "no"

"then you have no reason to doubt her" Wu walks forward "she will be there when you need her most"

"You're right, I have never doubted her" Lloyd smiles "thanks sensei"

"Papa!" Aria shouts in the forest, she runs to the shore where Garmatron and the army is "papa!"

"Aria"

Aria looks up to see Garmadon and her "dark energy ball" father on top of the weapon

"Papa" Aria quickly climbed up onto the weapon and Garmadon stood defensively "papa, you need to stop"

"Why" the overlord growled "we're so close.. to taking back what is ours"

"I don't think this is what mama would've wanted" Aria said, she took a queen's crown out of her bag and showed it to him "this is mama's right?"

"yes that is your mother's" the overlord replied "but you wouldn't know what your mother would've wanted, she wanted revenge, for the very people that took her in when she was young"

"But their would be other people suffering that don't even deserve it.. do you not care for them at all?" Aria asks

"Growing up with those ninja have made you weak!" the Overlord studently shouts in anger

"papa I-"

"grab her!" the Overlord shouts

"no!" Aria shouts as some warriors grab her "papa listen to me please"

"It's time" the Overlord announces

Garmadon laughs "Yes. Load the cannon. Finally, my darkest dream will now become reality" He is about to push the button

"Father, don't!" they hear Lloyd shout

Lloyd, Misako, and Wu ran out of the forest and stopped before the weapon.

"Lloyd!" Garmadon shouts

"What are you doing? Push the button!" The Overlord orders

"So, the balance has sent my son, my brother, and my wife to try to stop me? It looks like my little surprise has kept the Ninja busy" Garmadon says
