jeno and jaemin let me wait in the store's break room while we waited for their shifts to end. jaemin guided me into it where another worker was sat drinking coffee and scrolling through his phone. i was informed his name was yuta and he nodded at me with a smile before he turned back to his phone. jaemin told me to sit down and made me a drink, handing it to me once i was done. he smiled and left to go back to working. i took a sip of the drink which i realized was hot chocolate.

'so what did you do?' i looked over to yuta, not knowing if he had spoken to me since he hadn't taken his eyes off his phone. when i didn't answer he looked up and took a sip of his coffee, raising his eyebrow slightly.

'what do you mean?' he smiled and set down his coffee. he turned off his phone and sat forward so his full attention was on me. 'neither jaemin nor jeno have let anybody wait here while they worked. they usually keep their work separate from their friends and fun.' i furrowed my eyebrows hearing this, why did they invite me to the store then?

i shrugged and smiled slightly at him. 'maybe they got bored of always working by themselves.'

yuta chuckled and picked up his phone, starting to scroll again. 'nah, jaemin's father owned this store and he's loved it ever since he was a kid. there's no way he'd get bored of it.'

i didn't respond and drank my hot chocolate, trying to think of a reason to why they'd bring me here. maybe they didn't have other friends? no they definitely do.

my thoughts were interrupted when i felt my phone buzzing in my pocket. i took it out to see chenle was calling. i quickly slid my finger across the screen to answer.

'hello?'

'zhong chenle is now a married man.'

a/n: short chapter but the next one is cute <3 also do y'all prefer first person or third person chapters ?? i feel like first person is more interesting since you can see from different povs but i'll do whatever y'all prefer
