I didn't waste a second before texting my boyfriend, I would be pranking him... yes on his birthday

That was obviously a lie, I got Joanne and Faith in on the plan, I was staying at a hotel in North Carolina so we could set up a surprise party for Payton at this local disco place

Payton's POV

I woke up and looked at my phone, Y/n's message visible, had she forgotten? Did she really forget her own boyfriend's birthday?

I decided to head downstairs... my mom and Faith were gone, a note left on the counter

Peanut, (that's what Joanne sometimes calls payton btw)

Me and Faith have gone out to go get some shopping, call me if you need anything

I huffed before heading back upstairs, EVERYONE had forgotten.
I didn't have any notifications or anything... surely Jackson remembered

Payton: hey bro
Jackson: hey I can't really talk at the moment bro I've got some stuff to do, I'll call you back later
He ended the call before I could even say anything.

I just broke down, no one knew what day it was, I just sat on my bed and cried, I missed everyone and I was upset, they just- forgot

Y/n's POV

He's mad... I feel really bad he's literally posting stuff saying he wishes that he's single, I feel horrible.

We were nearly done with setting up when I got into a Uber to go pick up Payton.

I was scared he was gonna he mad but I mean I could definitely understand why.

I thanked the driver and told him to wait a second as I went to go get Payton.
I walked through the door and headed upstairs, trying to be quiet
I opened the door and sure enough Payton was laying in bed, asleep.
I walked over to the bed and sat down next to him, I moved his hair out of his face before leaning down to whisper in his ear
Y/n: Payton, Payt wake up
I said quietly
I saw him turn over and look up at me

He asked, squinting his eyes at me

I smiled and he sat up, he was in his orange hoodie and some sweats
Y/n: baby we have to go, there's an Uber waiting for us
I said as I pulled him up, he didn't ask any questions just followed me outside.

We got into the Uber and I gave the driver the directions to the venue
Payton: I thought you forgot it was my birthday
He said as he laid his head on my shoulder, his hand holding onto mine, rubbing his thumb over my hand.

I giggled
Payton: what about my mom and stuff?
He asked

Y/n: wait they didn't wish you happy birthday?
I asked
Payton: nope I kinda thought you'd know something about it
He sighed
Y/n: baby I'm sorry, I don't know anything I just wanted to take you out but I already assumed they had seen you

Payton sat up and looked at me, his eyes glistening

He said as he dug his head into my chest, me playing with his hair as I wasn't sure if I let him cry or tell him the truth.

I pouted as I stroked his hair
Payton: how did they all just forget?
He asked, looking up to me
I pouted before wiping his tears away
Y/n: Payton they love you, you know that bub
I said before giving him a kiss
Y/n: no more crying
I said as the car came to a stop

I said as I grabbed his hand and we got out of the Uber
Payton: baby I'm not really up for dancing, can't we just go home
He said as he looked at the signs

I said as I laced our fingers together again
He huffed as we walked into the dark room

He said sarcastically
Everyone: SURPRISE!!!
Payton jumped back as the lights turned on and everyone surrounded him, popping confetti cannons.
He laughed before letting go and ran over to the boys, jumping on them
I went over to Joanne to give her a hug and say thanks for all the good work.

Payton: baby this, tonight was perfect
He said as he pulled me into a hug, we had just got home and jeez was everyone drunk, pretty much except me.
Y/n: I'm glad you liked it
I smiled as I cuddled into his chest
Payton: I'm sorry for freaking out earlier
He told me as his hand stroked my face
I just smiled at him
Y/n: Payton I wanna tell you something
I said kinda quietly

I looked directly into his eyes
He smiled before placing a kiss on my lips

This was the first time me and Payton had said that, and damn did it feel amazing
Payton: anyways I wanna do something
He smirked, as he pushed a finger into me

I giggled
Payton: it's my birthday
He smiled
Y/n: and the birthday gets whatever he wants
