Kabanata 24

I've been living with the things I've been ussed to, effortlessly having the things I wanted to. And I must say, I had been contented having what I wanted. Just this once, I feel uncontented for one particular person.

"Abel," I called.

Abel's playing with my hair. Naka higa kaming dalawa sa duyan kung saan niya ako dinala noon. I leaned more closer to him. Feeling his warmth.

"Hmmm?" kissing my temple.

I've been thinking this questions since then, wala lang akong oras o lakas ng loob para isatinig sa harapan niya, dahil una hindi ko alam kung tama na sabihin pa. Ngayon lang.

"Magagalit ka ba?"

TInignan ko siya, brows furrowed, lips were in a thin line, tinataniya ang bawat galaw ko.

"Spill it," he demand.

"What are we? Who am I to you? Para alam ko kung saan ko ilulugar ang sarili ko."

Abel throat goes up and down, unable to answer my question.

He breath. "As long as I'm here..."

Just this once. I never felt the satisfaction, I never felt the same way as I get the things I wanted. After that conversation with Abel, hindi ko na inulit ang tanong na iyon sa kanya.

Anticipating he might get furious, I didn't dare to say those things again. As long as I'm here. Kung ganoon, hanggang saan? Hanggang kailan lang ito magtatagal? Sa sinabi niya, hanggat na riyan siya.

"Couz, we need to go there. Tayo lang ang inaasahan ni lolo," my cousin Christian said while typing something on his laptop.

Sumimangot ako. "I don't want to! Hindi ko na close yung mga 'yon!"

"Kung pwede lang nga ako rin! Look, I'm trying hard." he sighed while harshly pressing the keyboard. "I've been chatting our other cousins for a week now, ayaw rin ng mga 'to pumunta!" reklamo nito.

"Ikaw na lang." pilit ko.

2 days from now, magkakaroon ng reunion ang pamilya namin sa side ni lolo. Matagal na rin nang huli akong pumunta doon. At siguradong wala akong ka close o makakausap man sa lugar na pag gaganapan noon.

I stood up and was about to go upstairs.

"There's food in there." stating the obvious.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course! that's reunion!"

Nasa unang baitang na ako ng hagdan ng may pahabol pa itong sasabihin.

"There's alcohol in there." he tempted.

Naitigil ko ang tuluyang pag akyat sa hagdan sa hagdan, alcohol, beers! The sudden thirst for alcohol rushed all over in my system. Matagal-tagal na rin pala simula ng makatikim ako nito. Bumalik ako sa pwesto ni Christian na malawak na ang ngiti sa akin ngayon. He got me there!

"I'm fucking in!" I roughly said.

Two days had passed, the theme of the reunion was Enchanted forest theme, I know now why they chose that theme, almost that you can see here was green leaves and flowers. Ang pag gaganapan daw na lugar ay hindi malayo mula rito.

I wore a nude dress with a deep v neck line, that perfectly shows my cleft. I extended my right foot and the slit just revealed my paper skin legs. I tied my hair into a bun and put a light make up.

I went downstairs and saw Christian. The hem of his blue black tuxedo fits perfectly his body partnered with a white checkered inside and a red ribbon bow tie. I giggled upon seeing his face, ayaw niya talaga ito. He hates events. Especially like this one. Lumapit ako sa kanya at inayos ang pulang rosas na nakalagay sa kanan niyang dibdib.

"Natatanggal," I slowly said.

He snorted. "I really don't like this!"

I tap his back. "Just go with the flow."

Aalis na ako sa harapan niya ng maglabas siya ng headband na maraming nakapalibot na mga puting bulaklak.

"You're not beautiful," pang asar nito. He raised the headband. "Unless. You wear this," he smirked.

Hinampas ko siya. "Thanks! Nag abala ka pa." putting the headband.

"Nope, galing 'yan kay Abel."

Hearing his name made me stop putting the headband. Nanggaling pala sa kanya ito. Hindi naman ako galit sa kanya, bakit hindi siya ang nagbigay sa akin? I sighed and we both went outside.

When we arrived a lot of our families gathering in different tables, chattering with a wine on their hands with luxurious jewelries. I rolled my eyes, that's why I hate here. Above all these luxurious place and foods, boastfulness dominates their being.

"Hija, hijo. Nice to see you here!"

Sabay kaming napalingon ni Christian sa umagaw ng atensyon namin. She's all smiles with a glass wine on her hand. Nagkatinginan kami ni Christian.

I leaned on to him. "Deal with her, I'm hungry," I whispered.

He pinched my hand lightly. "Ako rin, we're both gonna deal with this," he smirked.

Kinurot ko ang braso niya ng patago at ngumiwi naman ito sa sakit.

"How's your lolo dear?"

Nawala ang atensyon ko sa pinsan ko ng magsalita ang isa sa kamag-anak namin, I don't know her name, I can't remember her. Kaya hindi ko alam kung paano ito pakikitunguhan.

I pinched Christian. He snorted. "He's out of town tita," Christian said.

"By the way, you look wonderful hija." pag sabi nito.

I smiled but it turned wryly. I really hate having conversation like this. I tried to pinched my cousin again but he dodge it. Tinignan ko siya ng masama. He knows what I mean.

"Ah-- tita, we'll be right back, nagugutom na po kasi itong kasama ko eh," he politely said.

"Oh, my bad. There's a lot of food, if you're looking for some wines and beers just ask Manang Celia okay?" she said and bid her goodbye.

Pumunta kami ni Christian sa tago at hindi masyadong pansinin na lamesa. After a while we eat and waste some time, until the games starts. There's a cupcakes eating contest, and some raffle draw. But what really caught my attention was this beers a lot of beers in front. I think I'd love this game.

"Anyone? Who want's to volunteer?" the host said.

I looked around and no ones trying to raise their hands. I was about to raised mine when Christian stopped me.

"Don't."

I hissed. "That thing is the reason why I'm here!" mariin kong sabi. "I'm not gonna waste this chance couz," tanggal ko sa kamay niya.

"Me, I want to volunteer." I proudly said.

They're now looking at me with amusement, who wouldn't be? There's a lot of different alcohol in front, a glass of tequila, vodka and some beers like Empi. Red horse. Needless to say, it's heaven men! it's heaven! I miss this a lot. I swallowed, eager to taste the different alcohol in front.

The host told me what to do, kailangan lang pala ubusin ang lahat ng iyon sa loob ng isang minuto, I didn't know what's the price is. All I want is to taste the alcohol so bad.

Just this once, I want to taste it, just this once I want to forget what Abel said to me. Just this once, please...

When the time starts, mabilis kong pinag kukuha ang bawat alak na nakikita ko sa aking harapan. Walang kurap na ninanamnam ang bawat patak at pait na dumadampi sa lalamunan ko. Just this once, I want to forget you, Abel.
