Insanity

I have been silent for I have fallen...

Fallen so far that the dark side of the moon has
Consumed every living soul I know and love.

No matter how far I fall...
No matter how badly I have failed...

No song of healing can undo this pain and
Sorrow that has befallen this now desolate town!

Nothing can mask the destruction in
It's insane wake.

A victim punished for a crime he didn't commit.
A hero falls before saving his town.
A father dies trying to rescue his children.
The ghosts of the past are still waging an already dead war.

Nothing can end this tragedy now,
Not now...
Not ever...

No amount of time can reverse the dying of the light.

Your friend... What kind of... People are they?
I wonder... Do these people... Think of you as a friend?

What makes you happy?
I wonder... What makes you happy... Does it make... Others happy, too?

The right thing... What is it?
I wonder... If you do the right thing... Does it make... Everybody... Happy?

Your true face... What kind of face is it?
I wonder... The face under the mask... Is that your true face?

You've met with a terrible fate,
Haven't you?

AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

Inside the Mind: Okay so this poem is another I believe I wrote Sophomore year. I honestly can't remember because 10-12 I didn't write as many poems on my own so they get lost in the shuffle timeline wise except for two. Either way this is hands down one of my favorite poems I've written it is essentially a love letter to The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask my favorite video game of all time. I had so much fun writing this and felt very prideful when I was done. I do remember the moon children quotes were last minute additions. I felt they just fit the mood and flow of the poem well enough for me to include them.
