As soon as Michael and I stepped on the red carpet camera's started flashing, fans......and of course.....the media. As we walked there was a camera man trying to snap pictures of us and it was highly irritating, i never really got along with the paparazzi I don't see how anyone could, I mean they were always in your business. All day everyday. I don't know how, but somehow we ended up in front of one and he was putting a microphone in Michael's face. I kept a smile on mine."Michael what's so special about tonight?"the man asked.
"It's a reunion and I'm honored, I'm very honored that the world appreciates my art, and I'm very thankful."He said. Then leaned away from the mic, I new hew was only going to answer that one question and that was it. The man tried to get him to answer another but he just shook his head. So he turned the mic to me.
"How great is he as a man?"He asked.
I wanted to raise my eyebrow at him so badly but I tried to keep it down."Well Michael is my husband, and we know more about each other then any other to people and I love him and he loves me."I said giving them a soft smile.
He nodded."Alright and-" Michael pulled me over so that the line could start back moving. More people began calling his name and screaming I saw about a dozen crying at the sight of him, It took about ten minutes to finally get into the stadium and up on the wings where Mother, Susanne, Liz and his brothers were sitting. At that Moment the show was just getting started. It opened with Mya, Usher, and Whitney Houston singing Michael's song Wanna Be Startin' Something. The dace choreography was amazing and the performers was to. The show went on with more people singing Michael's songs and giving tribute to him. Soon enough it was my time to get on during that time Mya, Deborah Coax, Tamia, and Moniqa was performing Heal The World.
"Every put your hands together for The Queen of urban pop and r&b AALIYAH!!!!!"The announcer called out once those woman were completely off the stage. I took a deep breath, it was amazing how I was still nervous in front of people, maybe I was just nervous at the fact that I was singing one of his songs for the first time in public. When i was at home i sanged whatever came to my mind whether it was his songs, mine, or just the theme songs of Elmo's World on Sesame Street. Doing it in public just felt odd.
I took the mic and stepped out into the crowd and everyone started cheering. I looked in the corner of my eye and saw Michael with a cheeky smile plastered across his face. That made me feel great and when the music filled the room I began to sing.
