This is the first time in a long while when my parents are home for the holidays. I normally spend them with Binky and the other house elves, so that I'm not lonely.

-

"Joy!" I run out of my bedroom and peak over the balcony to see Mother.

"We have a dinner to attend to tonight, and your attendance is required."

I nod, "Ok, when are we leaving?"

"A quarter to 7."

"How do I dress?"

Her voice is now faint, "Formal."

I look at the time. It's already 5 o'clock. I need to get ready.

After a quick shower, I rummage through my closet, examining all the gowns I have.
It takes me forever before I decide on a black, sleek, floor length gown with sleeves that falls off of my shoulders.

With a flick of my wand, my once frizzy hair glimmered into large, soft curls that were styled away from my face.
I finish up with a soft glam look to enhance my natural features and paired with a glossy lip.

There's a knock on my door. "Come in!"
Father slowly opens my bedroom door, "are you ready?"

"Binky! Where's my wand?"

Binky suddenly appears into my room with my wand in his hand, "Your wand, Miss Joy."

"Thank you, Binky."

Binky walks to the doorway leading to the hallway, avoiding eye contact with my father.

I see Father watch Binky walk by until he's out of his sight, "You shouldn't thank the help, Joy."

I roll my eyes at him. I secure the last buckle on my heels and strap my wand to my inner thigh, "Ready!"

Our car ride to the dinner took very long. Father doesn't like to apparate to formal events, so we've asked our driver to take us.

I've never cared for any of the events my parents drag me to. I mainly go to make them happy, and to spend a little more time with them when I can. Plus, there's free food.

We arrive at the residence. I'm escorted out of the car, and I gaze at the manor before me.

It's like a dark mini castle. Slightly smaller than our home.
The sun doesn't seem to shine much on the grounds, but the grass still looks well and healthy.

We are greeted by a couple, who looks strangely familiar but I can't seem to put a finger to it.

"Lucius, Narcissa. It's so good to see you both,"My father shakes the hand of the man and kisses the cheek of the woman.

"Ben and Mila. Thank you for coming, we are very excited for tonight," The man replies.

He has long, straight blonde hair that parts right in the middle of his scalp. He's dressed in all black and carries what looks like to be a walking stick, with a serpent on the top.

"And you must be Joy, your parents have spoken very highly about you," The woman brings me in for a hug.

She's slender and beautiful. Her hair is top half black, bottom half blonde, and her hair is styled so that you can see the contrast in the two colors. She is dressed very modestly, with a black, long sleeve gown, much similar to what Mother is wearing.

My mother introduces me, "Joy, this is Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy."

I'm internally screaming. Malfoy?!

I try my best to hide my surprised expression.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy."I give them a polite curtsy.

Mr. Malfoy responds, "Please, call us Lucius and Narcissa."

"Come in, come in," Narcissa motions us over the enter the residence.

The interior matches the exterior. It's dark, with just enough lighting to illuminate the artworks hanging on the wall and reflect the shine of the beautiful crystal chandelier hanging above the foyer.

"Wow, your house is lovely."
Immediately, you can see a tall, white pine tree decorated in yellow lights and silver and green ornaments.
Ilook up to the cathedral styled ceilings and see it's charmed to look like it's snowing.

Narcissa lightly touches my shoulder, "You are so sweet, and very gorgeous I might add," as she lifts my chin.

I tuck a loose curl behind my ear, "Thank you."

"Oh, I must introduce you to my son," Lucius turns to yell at their house elf to bring Draco down.

Oh no.

I try not to look in his direction, but at the corner of my eye, I see his shiny, platinum blonde hair bobbing down the stairs.

"Draco, this is—"

"Joy?" He looks up from the ground and my eyes meets his.

Both of our parents twist their heads back and forth between Draco and I.

"You two.. know each other?" My father asks confused.

"From school," I reply.

"Ah yes, you've transferred to Hogwarts this year. Seems I have forgotten," Father chuckles.

Mother chimes in while taking a grasp on both of my shoulders, "You didn't mention it to us, Joy."

I just shrug, "I didn't think it was important."

"Well since you already know each other, you can take a look around the house." Narcissa motions to Draco, "Draco, give her a tour."
Lucius orders, "We have business matters to discuss."

I shoot my father a questionable look.
I raise my eyebrows in question, 'Business matters?'
He gives me a slight nod.

I politely excuse myself and Draco and make our way away from our parents.
