You round the corner in a flash, bread flying everywhere out of your arms.

"Hey! You get back here!" the store-owner yells behind you. "Oi, Soldiers," he calls to the soldiers  belonging to the Military Police, "Get that thief!"

5 officers begin chasing you. They don't get much distance, though, before you press the sides of your feet to the ground and fall, sliding right into a little creep-hole.

You silently watch the feet of the Military run farther on than where you're hidden. One stops and orders the other way, down an alley.

Then, about 2 minutes later, the streets are vacant.

Only the familiar far-off sound of a shotgun echoes throughout every alley.

You smirk, realizing you got away.

First time in a month.

Now, you can finally eat.

You smile blissfully, happy that you have food and, even better than that, the bread's still warm.

You had gotten 8 loaves; you dropped two. But it didn't matter. Even if you had one, you'd still be grateful. You set the bread in your lap, remembering to do your before-you-eat ritual. You place your palms together, your fingers pointing upward towards the sky.

Your lips move in grace; wishing and hoping and blessing to the three well-known walls that keep everybody caged into this god-forsaken place.

Most people within the Walls think praying to them like they're Gods is nonsense. But you have nothing else to do. You're on your own-you have been since your parents died when you were 5. You actually escaped the killers by yourself, but you thought you should have just died when you realized you were all alone in this big world. So what you resulted into was praying to the Walls, since they seemed to be the only 'God' everyone had.

Then a former thug had found you; he had just lived his 10 year sentence in jail. He took care of you-fed you, clothed you, and most importantly, taught you how to survive in this world.

He died when you were 10, but it didn't necessarily matter because you were already fully educated on how to live like a thug and survive. You missed him, though. You still do. He was the only family you had for a long time.

Now being 17, you sometimes wonder if you'll always live as a thug. Die as one.

After you're done stuffing your face, you finally notice that the creep-hole you crawled into was an underground cave.

You get up and start exploring it, touching the walls gingerly. The walls were like how the galaxy was suppose to look like; purples and blues and pinks and blacks. They sparkled in the dark. Even though it was high noon outside, it was pitch black in here, the complete opposite. You look up and see pointy things shaped like sharp cones staring down at you. They sparkle white and silver in the darkness. They're pretty, but you can't help but feel a little scared due to their sharp ends and looking like they're going to fall any second.

You try to avoid them best as possible, but it's hard since they're everywhere. Even on the walls to the side of you.

You don't now where this leads, but you just keep on walking.

What else were you supposed to do? Get caught out there? Heh, no. You'd rather stay in this scary cave.

It feels like you've been walking for years when suddenly you hear voices at the far end of the cave.
