Katia Torres is a cynic plagued by her parents failed relationships and her father's new family. Five years ago, she tossed a bottle into the ocean that contained her phone number in the hopes of living out her thirteen year old self's fairy-tale fantasy.
Easton Adley is the lucky guy that trips over the washed up bottle and lands headfirst into the sand on a Los Angeles beach. Of course, the only conceivable option is to call the phone number and ask for a certain Kat Torres.
With the spark lit, Kat and Easton begin their journey from strangers to friends to something more. But with each of them living on different sides of the country, can Kat's pessimistic nature compete with Easton's optimism?
They only know one thing for sure - their relationship is nothing if not a piece of unexpected good fortune.
