"I'm gonna start saving this number in my phone."

"You know that was really rude yesterday. I was offended. Feelings hurt. Made me sad."

"Uh, sorry?"

"You know, you have the empathy of a goldfish."

"Fine. I am sorry, so very deeply sorry, for hanging up on you, even though I don't know you and most likely will never meet you."

"I'm not sure I should accept that apology, but I do anyway. So, how you been?"

"Did you call me just to have a casual conversation?"

"Is that not what friends do?"

"We're friends? Since when? We met, like, two days ago."

"Didn't you want a friend? Isn't that why you dumped that bottle in the ocean in the first place?"

"Actually I wanted a long distance boyfriend, but friends works too."

"Boyfriend? I can do boyfriend! Boyfriend is better than friend!"

"Slow your roll there, East. I wanted a boyfriend when I was thirteen - friends is good."

"Nothing ever works out my way. If only I was five years earlier."

"Yeah, if only."

"So anyway, how are you on this fine morning?"

"Well, I just woke up an hour ago, but so far so good. You?"

"Unlike you, I woke up at seven a.m. and went for a run on the beach."

"Why on earth would you do that?"

"Because I like running and have a specific physique I'd like to keep up. Also I got into college on a track scholarship and I don't wanna get kicked out."

"Still, ew exercise."

"I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you weren't a sporty person in high school."

"You're wild guess would be correct. Wait, how old are you?"

"Random question, but nineteen."

"Okay cool."

"This is getting awkward again, isn't it."

"Yeah, kind of."

"Are we gonna hang up now?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"Okay. Bye Kat."

"Bye Easton."
