The next time you woke up it was because of your alarm.

You rolled over, digging your phone out from where it had fallen behind your bed and shutting off the alarm. It looked like the call had ended about a half an hour after you'd fallen asleep.

You could feel yourself growing giddy just thinking about it. You had fallen asleep on the phone together. And he had wanted you to come to his house; to meet his mum and his dogs. It had been so... intimate. It was nice.

But unfortunately, you couldn't just laze around thinking about last night's phone call. You rolled out of bed and grabbed some clean clothes, heading to the bathroom to brush your teeth and change.

As you got ready for school, you looked yourself over in the mirror, dragging your fingers over the dark circles under your eyes. You looked tired, probably from waking up in the middle of the night for that phone call. It was worth it though, and  a little concealer would fix that right up. You would just have to be careful not to fall asleep in class during the day.

Finishing up in the bathroom, you dropped your pajamas back in your room before heading downstairs to pour yourself a bowl of cereal.

As you prepared your breakfast, you couldn't help but think about the phone call some more. You couldn't really tell if Tommy was serious or just tired when he'd said he wanted you to come visit, but you wanted him to be serious. You were pretty confident that your mother would let you go if you asked.

You just didn't know if Tommy actually wanted you there.

You looked down at your phone in your hand. It couldn't hurt to ask. And you should probably make sure Tommy was up for school anyway. You shot him a quick text.

morning :)

It was only a few seconds before his reply came through.

morning. thanks for answering my call last night.

You spooned some cereal into your mouth and responded.

of course

You paused, fingers hovering over the keyboard. But you forced yourself to type the question, hitting send before you could talk yourself out of it.

when you said you wanted me to come visit were you serious or just tired?

You awaited Tommy's reply, thinking of a million ways you could play off the question if he said no. You were worrying for nothing though, as his reply came through.

ofc i was serious. why can you not or something?

Your heart leapt from your chest into your stomach, filling it with butterflies. He was serious. He wanted you to come visit him at his house. To meet his mom. And his dogs.

just making sure. ill ask. when would you want to meet up?

You spooned more cereal into your mouth, munching happily. Hopefully you could find a day that worked for both you and Tommy, and hopefully someone that could give you a ride to where he lived. You were sure you could ask Alex to if you needed to. You would have to ask your parents too...

You quickly checked your grades. If you just brought your maths grades up a little bit, there was no way they were going to say no.

Tommy's reply brought you back to the text thread.

ill have to check but ill get back to you on that later

You smiled to yourself.

cool. have a good day :)

Your phone buzzed again.

you too :)

You clutched your phone tightly, just looking over the messages. It was a little silly to get so excited about something YouTubers did all the time, but having a crush on the boy made things different. You scooped the last of your cereal into your mouth, carrying the bowl over to the sink and placing it in.

You walked back upstairs, grabbing a pair of shoes and your school bag, making sure you had everything inside. You had forgotten the book you were reading for Mr. Hayward's class last week, and he had been less than pleased. This time, you checked twice to make sure the novel was safely tucked in your bag.

You were halfway back down the stairs when you heard the front door open and shut. Kieran, right on time.

"Morning." He called.

You came to the bottom of the stairs, dropping your shoes and your bag. "Morning."

"Did you remember your book for-" Kieran started.

You toed into your shoes, kicking your bag in response to his question. "Already checked, but thanks for reminding me."

"'Course." Kieran said. He narrowed his eyes, looking at you closer. "Are you wearing makeup?"

"Just some concealer." You said.

"Why?" Kieran asked.

You slung your bag over your shoulders, not making eye contact with Kieran. "I was up kind of late last night." You held the door open for him as you left, stepping out into the cool morning air.

"Doing...?" Kieran prompted, closing the door behind him. You started on your usual walk to school, side by side.

You contemplated telling Kieran the truth. He didn't have to know... but at this point he was invested in the whole Tommy situation anyway.

"I was on the phone with Tommy." You blurted out.

Kieran's eyebrows shot up into his hairline, and a wide grin spread over his face. "Gaming, or just because?"

"Just because." You said. "He said he wants me to come visit him at his house."

Kieran laughed. "How are you nervous about telling this man that you fancy him? He obviously likes you enough as a friend, and I think he might fancy you a bit too!"

"That's not the point here!" You said. "I have to ask mum and dad if I can even go, and YouTubers and streamers meet up to collab all the time. It's not that big of a deal."

"Yeah, alright." Kieran said. "He could have asked anyone, but he asked you? And why did he even call you in the first place?"

You felt your face heating up. "He couldn't sleep and wanted some company." You mumbled.

"What was that?" Kieran asked, teasing.

You hit him playfully on the arm, not responding. You were sure you were blushing like a madman. "We're just friends." You insisted.

"For now." Kieran said.
