When he first opened his eyes, Cub thought he was dreaming because one often dreams about some Indiana Jones level adventure, right?

Cub took a moment to look around before realizing that the room he resided in resembled the Sands of Time map, although the translation into real-life made it look far grander than when it was simply made of blocks.

The walls and arches were made of marble-like sandstone bricks, and some sections looked hand-carved into beautiful designs and displays. Embedded in some of these designs were crystals of all sorts used to emphasize some parts and contrast on others. Oddly enough, there were random clear bags full of sand placed around everywhere.

Inset into the walls were different sized stripes near the top of the walls made of colored terracotta, with something different carved into each color. The biggest stripe was blue, and carved into it was a tableau displaying adventurers of all kinds seeking and discovering ancient treasures such as gold or totems.

There were pillars made of marble, its capitals made of beautifully carved sandstone engraving similar to greek and roman style columns.

The massive room branched off into several passageways, some of which were on a higher level that could be reached with a set of sandstone stairs.

It was as if the richest architect in the world had way too much time on his hands and way too much sandstone.

It wasn't until the first loud click that Cub realized that the event was timed. He turned around to observe the timer, although it looked far different in real life. Surrounded by a moat stood the sandstone island that the timer stood upon, leading to two wooden bridges made of stripped logs.

This timer was a massive half-hourglass that might be better described as a glass funnel with a cap, nearly touching the roof, which was about thirteen meters(blocks) high, although it was very narrow, so the top part could only hold about two minutes worth of sand at a time. This hourglass was encased in a display of two carved stone types, a dark reddish-brown stone and a light brown that looked similar to sandstone that complimented it well.

This stone encasing had a meter(block)-wide gap that showed the hourglass itself. There was a thin pillar on either side of the hourglass's visible part, separated into four sections—a green part on top, then a yellow, orange, and a slightly smaller red section. Just below the hourglass was a short pedestal made of quartz, with a decorative bowl made of turquoise(the stone); the inside was carved, so it looked like someone had twisted it.

This entire observation took only a moment before Cub glanced at his teammates, who were also admiring the beautiful architecture.

"Dang," Ren said wordlessly, "I almost wish this was how it usually looked. Almost."

Another click came from the hourglass, although this was much quieter.

Cub turned towards the hourglass once more. The sand's level was slightly lower, although it was still safely in the green zone. "As much as I would like to admire this place, we should probably get moving if we want any chance at a decent score."

The others silently nodded before splitting up into different passageways, with Ren staying behind for timer duty. Cub strolled down the tunnel in the upper section to the West, holding a few markers, which were just blue circles the size of a coin so that he wouldn't get lost in the maze.
