Early March 1978

The Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry

Thea watched from afar as they laughed.

The group danced around the blanket in the grass.

Lily and James were close and they shared a quick kiss every so often.

Abba was playing from a muggle stereo, it was one of Sirius's favorite bands ever since Remus and Peter introduced him to them.

They looked happy, jubilant, but she could feel the tragedy nonetheless.

Thea watched from the castle.

She stood, slightly obscured, near one of the arches.

Her book back clutched in her hand, knuckles turning white.

Her eyes were wide.

Her ears had perked, craving to hear the sound of their laughter.

In her other hand, the 'O' essay that she had written for Transfiguration was practically crushed.

Her heart was beating quicker every second she stood looking at them.

Magic surged around her, making the wind whip and the trees to turn bright red.

People stopped and stared at the display.

She tore her eyes away, causing the magic to stop.

Her core felt hot, but her extremities felt bitter cold.

She wanted to crawl out of her skin.

She wanted to tear it off and feel the breeze going through her.

She wanted to put a dress on and feel, truly, the soft and silkiness of the fabric.

She wanted to be able to breathe again.
