"INGRID!!!" Elijah yelled frantically as he ran through the doors to the church. He stopped dead in his tracks, panting and out of breath as a result of multiple werewolf bites. He struggled to focus his vision until he saw the blurry figures of Klaus holding Ingrid tightly to his chest. "What happened?"
"She was ambushed at her most vulnerable." Klaus grimly responded and studied his brother's appearance. "You've been bitten. Here." He bit into his wrist and offered it to Elijah, who was stunned by this display of kindness.
Elijah took his offer and healed himself with Klaus' blood. Klaus pulled himself weakly to his feet and looked Elijah in the eyes. "They took the baby. But we can still save her."
"There's no time to wait for Ingrid." Elijah informed him sternly and turned on his heels, heading for the door. "She would want us to keep going. She will catch up. Let's not waste any more time."
After hours searching, the Mikaelson brothers still hadn't found the baby and Elijah had the feeling they were trapped in an illusion.
Klaus sped to the top of the tomb with the angel statue and tried to get a better view of the cemetery. When he looked out, there seemed to be an infinite number of tombs, stretching out to make the cemetery appear to be endless, and his eyes widened in horror.
They continued walking through the maze illusion in the cemetery, using a stone like a piece of chalk in order to mark the tombs that they passed.
Klaus sighed in aggravation and exhaustion, throwing his hands up. "It's ingenious. I can see them, I can feel them, and yet they are not real."
Elijah was still visibly distraught as he ran his hands through his hair. "There has to be a way. Even if we could just push through--"
"--What we need to do is focus." Klaus said sternly, interrupting him.
Elijah began to lose his temper and pointed a finger at him. "My only focus right now is that child and her safety, do you understand me?" He glared at Klaus furiously as his brother stared at him in shock for his outburst. "This-- all of this-- this is the world that you created, Niklaus."
"Brother--" Klaus started to argue and reason.
"All of your scheming, the enemies that you have made every single day of your miserable life-- what results did you expect? That your child would be born into a happy life? That we could live and thrive as some- as some sort of family?" Elijah questioned in an outrage and Klaus opened his mouth to respond but was cut off. "NO, brother! This was our hope. This was our family's hope." Elijah began to hyperventilate and stopped to try to catch his breath. "We have to find her!""And we will." Klaus responded in determination and Elijah looked at him, his chin quivering, as he nodded encouragingly. "Let's keep going."
Klaus and Elijah began breaking their way through the illusion by destroying the tombs. When they reached a room full of candles, they stopped to catch their breath.
Elijah sighed in frustration. "We've passed through here twice already. We're running out of time." He punched through a wall in anger and frustration.
"Then we move faster." Klaus marked the wall with a third tally using a large rock just as a familiar female voice called out from behind them.
"We need to move diligently." Ingrid remarked from behind them, her bloodstained arms crossed over her chest. "Let's move." She ordered sternly and lead Elijah and Klaus through the maze of tombs in the cemetery's illusion toward her and Klaus' daughter. She would pause and dart her eyes around frantically before walking again.
