Chapter-25: Bondita Is Missing

Next morning
In RC Mansion ~
(Binoy had returned from his business tour. He was happy that Anirudh and Bondita had gone out together and had got time to spend with e/o.)
Kaka was doing the morning aarti. Binoy was sitting in the living room reading newspaper. Som and Batuk were in their room talking about Vaishali.
The weather was very bad outside.
While Kaka was doing the aarti, Suddenly the chunar which was wrapped around Durga Maa's murti fell down.
Kaka noticed this. He started sweating.
Kaka- hey bhagwaan yeh kya ho gaya. Maa ka chunar girna toh ghor apshagun hai. Kahi kuch galat toh nahi hone wala hai. Mera mann keheraha hai ki kuch toh galat hone wala hai.
Kaka finished his aarti and walked into the living room looking pale. Binoy saw him and asked.....
Binoy- Da aap kuch pareshaan lag rahe hai. Koi baat hai kya??
Kaka- Binoy aaj aarti ke samay Maa ka chunar murti se neeche gir gaya. Aur chunar ka girna apshagun hota hai. Hume kuch thik nahi lag raha. Aisa lag raha hai jaise kuch bohot bura hone wala hai.
Binoy- nahi Da bahar mausam bohot kharab hai. Hawa ki wajah se chunar gir gaya hoga. Aap kuch zyaada hi soch rahe hai. Aap pareshaan mat hoiye.
Kaka- tum jo bhi kaho hume thik nahi lag raha hai.

Meanwhile in Shimla ~
Anirudh woke up and found that he had dozed off in his study the previous night.
He recalled the incident that took place the previous night and tears started rolling down his cheeks. He took out the photo of Bondita and started talking to it.
Anirudh(crying)- Bon....Bondita maine tumhare saath bohot bura kiya. Main maafi ke laayak nahi hu par mujhe maaf kardo Bondita. Please Bondita. Main tumse bohot pyaar karta hu Bondita. Itna pyaar ki tumhare liye kuch bhi kar sakta hu yaha tak ki apni jaan bhi de sakta hu.
Mujhe Bondita se baat karna chahiye.
He slowly got up and started taking small steps towards her room. He was guilt- ridden. He reached the room and forwarded his hand to knock but he stopped. He thought for a while and knocked at the door.
Anirudh(stammering)- bon....Bondita darwaaza kholo. Main tumse baat karna chahta hu. Bondita darwaaza kholo na.
But as he pushed the door it opened. Anirudh- yeh darwaaza toh khula hai.
Anirudh entered the door and found the room to be empty. He was surprised.
The cupboards were left opened. The mirror was broken and there were blood stains all around. Her clothes were lying on the bed. What had happened???
Anirudh was confused. He started searching for Bondita in her room.
Anirudh- Bondita kaha ho jawab do. Bondita......
Anirudh knocked the door of the washroom.
Anirudh- Bondita bathroom mein ho kya
But the door was open.
Anirudh- kaha chali gayi Bondita??
He started searching for her in every room, in the kitchen, in the Puja room but she was nowhere to be found.
At last he sat down on the sofa in the living room with his hands on his head.
Tears started rolling down his cheeks.
Anirudh- Bondita kaha chali gayi tum??
Kyu sata rahi ho mujhe Bondita....bahar aao na main tumhe dekhna chahta hu tumse baat karna chahta hu. Please Bondita.
Then suddenly he thought of Bondita's room's condition.
Anirudh- shayad mujhe Bondita ke kamre mein jaakar dekhna chahiye. Shayad waha uske bareme kuch pata chal jaaye.
Anirudh ran upstairs into her room.
He searched for a thing that would take him to Bondita. But got nothing. At last he sat down on the bed crying bitterly.
His hopes were all shattered by now.
Suddenly he found a diary on her bed.
He opened it and started reading. Soon he realised that it was Bondita's personal diary. He turned the pages and started reading it.

20th December, 1920 (Tuesday)
Aaj ka din mere zindagi ka sabse bura din hai. Aaj mere pyaar, mere bhagwaan, mere sansaar, mere pati ne aaj mujhse mera sab kuch cheen liya. Jinpe maine sabse zyada vishwaas kiya, jinpe maine sabse zyada bharosa kiya unhone aaj mujhe dhoka diya. Aaj aisa lag raha hai jaise mujhse mera sab kuch chin gaya. Mera dil toot gaya jab mujhe mere pati babu ke ateet ke bareme pata chala. Mujhe bohot bura lag raha hai ki main Saudamini didi aur pati babu ke beech aa gayi. Par shotti maine yeh sab jaan buchkar nahi kiya. Mujhe iss sab ke bareme pata bhi nahi tha. Par kal jab mujhe yeh sab pata chala toh mano mere pairo ke neeche se zaameen khisak gayi. Mujhe bohot bura laga. Ek samay mein aisa laga ki mujhe mar jana chahiye par phir socha ki apne jeevan ka anth karke kya milega. Isiliye maine socha ki main apne jeevan ki ek nayi shuruwat karu.

Anirudh had tears continuously flowing from his eyes. He was guilty of what he had done. Bondita's thoughts were continuously surrounding his mind.
Anirudh- tumhari koi galti nahi hai Bondita. Saari galti meri hai. Par Bondita main tumhare bina kese reh paunga Bondita. Kese jee paunga tumhare bina. Par apni galti ka pashtchyataap main karke rahunga.
