Chapter-27: Anirudh Is Shattered

Just then suddenly the door bell rang. Kaka was about to get up to open the door but Som interrupted.
Som- Kaka aap Anirudh dada ko sambhaliye. Unke paas rahiye. Main jaakar dekhta hoon.
Som ran and opened the door. The RCs were surprised to see two police constables standing at the door.
Som- ji
Police- ji kya yeh Mr. Anirudh Roy Choudhury ka ghar hai?
Som- ji....andar aaiye na
Police- ji
The constables came inside and saw the Anirudh's condition.
Police- ji aap Anirudh Roy Choudhury hai na
Anirudh looked up- ji
Police- ji apki patni Mrs. Bondita Roy Choudhury hi hai na?
Anirudh stood up.
Anirudh- ji Bondita meri hi patni hai. Par aap Bondita ko kyu dhund rahi hai?
Police- ji apki patni kal se laapata hai.
Anirudh- ji par apko kaise pata?
Batuk interrupted
Batuk- dada maine hi boudi ki gaayab hone ki report likhwaya tha.
Anirudh- achha
Police- ji aur hume yeh chappal mile hai. Kya yeh apki patni ke hai??
Anirudh took them and started examining it.
Anirudh- ji haan yeh meri patni Bondita ki hi chappal hai. Yeh maine hi usse kharidke diya tha. Par yeh apke paas kaise?
Police- ji yeh hume ek khayi ke paas mila tha. Apki patni khayi se neeche gir gayi thi. Unki body hume paas ke nadi ke kinaare pada mila tha.
All the RCs stood there numb. Anirudh knelt down with widened eyes. None of them were moving.
Anirudh- aa....aap jhoot bol rahe hai na?
Aisa nahi ho sakta. Bon....Bondita
Kaka sat beside him crying.
Kaka- Anirudh sambhaal khud ko. Tu toot gaya toh kya hoga.
Police- ji unke body khoon se bhaara hua tha. Aur aisa lag raha tha Jaise unke saath badtameezi ki gayi ho.
Anirudh stood up and walked towards. He said holding his collar-
Anirudh- kya bakwaas kar rahe ho. Jhoot kyu bol rahe ho.....meri Bondita zinda hai. Woh mujhe chodkar nahi jaa sakti. Usne kasam khaya tha ki woh mere saath rahegi. Zaroor tumne kuch kiya hoga.....sach bolo
Kaka and Binoy trying to free him.
Kaka- Anirudh chod usse....kya kar raha hai.
Anirudh- nahi meri Bondita zinda hai. Aur kya backwaas kar raha hai yeh Bondita ke saath badtamezi ki gayi hai. Kisine aaj tak Bondita ko ankh uthakar bhi nahi dekha aur yeh kehe raha hai....
Kaka- Anirudh chod usse
Anirudh- nahi Kaka
Kaka( shouting)- Anirudh
He slapped Anirudh
Kaka(shouting)- chup ek dum chup....bohot ho gaya.
Anirudh knelt down again. He knew nothing. He wanted to cry but he couldn't. He wanted to express his grief, his feelings but he couldn't. He only wanted Bondita. He wanted her desperately. How much he wanted to hug her, to kiss her, to love her but the police officer's words broke him completely.
Kaka- hume humari bahu ka shaav chahiye.
Police- ji woh apki bahu ka antim sanskaar hospital waalon ne hi kar di post mortem ke baad.
Kaka- kya??
This time Kaka couldn't control his anger any more.
Kaka- kya samajh rakha hai apne. Hume humari bahu ko ek akhri baar dekhne nahi diya.
Police- ji humara farz tha apko batana. Ab humara kaam ho gaya. Hum chalte hai.
Kaka- par
Before Kaka could speak they left.
All turned towards Anirudh and looked at him.
Anirudh got up and ram inside his study. He locked the door from inside and stood in front of her photo. He knelt down and  started crying bitterly.
Anirudh(shouting with grief)- dhokebaaz ho tum Bondita. Bohot badi dhokebaaz aur jhooti bhi. Tum meri kasam khayi thi ki tum mujhe kabhi chodkar nahi jaogi. Toh phir tumne aisa kyu kiya Bondita. Kyu??
But he stopped for a while
Anirudh- ek minute agar tum zinda na hoti toh main bhi zinda na hota. Kyunki tumhara dil mere paas hai aur Mera dil tumhare paas. Toh phir mujhe bhi mar Jana chahiye tha. Iska matlab tum zinda ho. Yeh main pure yakin ke saath keh sakta hu Bondita. Aur mujhe vishwaas hai ki tum mere paas jald aaogi. Main tumhara intezaar karunga Bondita. Tumhara pyaar tumhara intezaar karega.
