Justin

lucy and i were wrapping up the wedding stuff. we decided to get the invitations passed to our friends by the end of this week.

"you know what would be nice?", lucy asked.

"what?", i asked.

"if you and your dad made up already", she said.

"he's just acting like a child", i said, "i have no problem or grudges against him. i am sending an invitation to him so it'll be up to him if he wants show up or not"

"yeah you're right", she said, "it's just sad"

"oh baby don't be", i said, "there's a lot of things to be happy about"

"you're right", lucy said smiling.

"there you go", i said smiling.

with that said my mom comes to the living room.

"justin", she said, "your dad is here"

"are you sure?", i said.

"yes why?", she said confused.

"because i'm surprised the police haven't showed up to arrest both of you for fighting", i said chuckling.

"oh my gosh", she said playfully smacking me.

"just teasing you", i said.

"well", she said, "i decided to be civil just for your wedding"

"sounds promising to me", i said, "tell dad to come this way"

shortly after my dad appears.

"hello son", he spoke.

"hello dad", i said.

"we need to talk", he said.

"of course", i said.

"first things first", he said, "why did you not tell me you and lucy are expecting a baby soon?"

"because you said you didn't want to know anything about me or whoever i was with", i said.

"i'll leave so you both can talk", lucy said.

"no please don't", my dad said.

"anyways", i said.

"i want to say i'm sorry", my dad said, "i know i wasn't the best father to you and i want to be the best father for you"

"you have no idea how long I've been wanting to hear those words come out of your mouth", i said.

"i regret never saying them", he said, "can we start all over?"

"of course", i said, "that'll be the best for all of us"

"i'm glad", he said, "so how's the wedding stuff going?"

"we're done with everything", i said, "we just have to go to court to sign the marriage certificates and that's it"

"that's crazy", my sad said.

"it sure is", i said, "it's a miracle we finished everything before lucy's bump becomes more noticeable"

"for sure", he said, "do y'all know the gender yet?"

"not yet", i said, "we'll find out next month"

"hopefully it's a boy", my dad said excited.

"me too", i said also excited at the thought.

"oh no it better be a girl", lucy said, "because i'm now about to put up with 2 justins"

"and i'm not about to put up with 2 lucys either", i said.

"is that so?", lucy said.

"mhm", i said.

"guys", my dad said laughing.

"we're just kidding that's how we mess around", lucy said.

"why am i not surprised", my dad said.

nana then comes to leave some snacks and we just started talking catching up with life.

"have you talked to ariana?", my dad asked.

"yeah we keep in touch", i said.

"was she invited to the wedding?", he asked.

"of course", i said, "her and her new partner we're all friends here"

"cool", my dad said.

"you sure do worry about her huh?", he asked.

"well yeah because i have to make sure both of you are in good terms for everyone's sake", he said.

"you're right", i said.

"anyways", my dad said, "it was nice talking to you and lucy. i better get going erin is waiting for"

lucy and i walked him to the door.

"stay beautiful and healthy lucy", he said.

"thank you", she said.

"make sure to let me know what my grand child's gender is", he said.

we said our goodbyes.

"well that was something", lucy said.

"true", i said, "I'm just glad we're in good terms now"

"me too", lucy said giving me a hug.
