We'll Find Them... (A Lukanette Story)

MARINETTE

Here we go!

It was almost time for the concert. The stage was set up beautifully by the band. The only problem: Adrien was no where to be seen.

"I tried calling him, but he isn't picking up his phone..." Nino said, worried.

"I think you're gonna have to perform without him, Luka." Alya added.

Luka shook his head. Marinette knew Luka didn't want anyone to be left behind, plus, he knew it would be unfair to Adrien if he didn't get to play in this concert.

"We still have some time, we can wait." Marinette said, putting her hand on Luka's shoulder as he smiled.

"I am so excited! I am sure we will win this contest!" Rose came running and chimed with the rest of the band behind her.

"Should we put on the costumes now?" Juleka asked.

Luka hesitated but then nodded.

The dress rehearsal had went perfectly. Everyone completely knew what they were doing and just watching her friends on stage made Marinette feel proud of them. If they won this contest, they would get to work with XY, whom they didn't particularly like. Last time, they had won but XY stole their music, causing Luka to be akumatised into Silencer. As Silencer, Luka had said the most beautiful things to Marinette and later, repeated the same things as himself. Thats when Marinette developed a more-than-a-crush feeling for him.

"Guys, you are up in fifteen minutes. Audience has started coming... you better get backstage." Alya said as Nino got ready with his camera.

"Good luck!" Marinette planted a kiss on Luka's cheek which made him blush. Then the band hurried away.

Marinette then went to the  proscenium where she could easily see the whole thing as audience. She had the option to view the whole concert from backstage but she preferred this. She wanted to enjoy the concert fully. She quickly got to the front seat and sat there, followed by Alya.

"I can't wait!" Alya said.

"Me too. Look, the place is already starting to get crowded. My parents will be here soon." 

"Great! Your parents are totally cool with you dating an older guy?" 

"Yeah, they love Luka." Marinette said, gladly. Just then, someone tapped them on the shoulder.

"I'm sorry I'm late! Where-"

"Adrien!" Alya and Marinette shrieked together. Marinette was glad to see him but the concert started in about five minutes and Adrien wasn't even in his costume yet!

"We've got to get you backstage! The concert has almost started, c'mon!" Marinette yanked him and turned to Alya, "hey, save seats for my parents and me. I'll be back in a second."

"But Marinette-"

Marinette didn't stop to hear the rest. She pulled Adrien through the crowd. If she could get him backstage in time, the day will be saved. Luka will be happy. 

In about two minutes, she was there. 

"Rose! Adrien is here. Give him his costume. Now!" Marinette didn't mean to sound so commanding but her inner Ladybug was coming out. Rose nodded and she too, dragged Adrien. 

"Thank you!" Adrien yelled from ahead, before disappearing. Marinette rushed towards the audience and she had to fight her way through a lot of people to get back to her original seat. She saw Alya from a distance, worried, and she also saw her parents who were now well seated. Marinette spotted familiar faces of her classmates like Nathaniel, Marc, Kim, Alix, Max, Mylene, Sabrina, Chloè (who was muttering something about the sitting arrangements being ridiculous). Kagami was no where to be seen, maybe her strict mother didn't allow her to attend the concert. Lila was not there was well, she was probably off to "meet prince Ali" or on a "vacation with Ladybug". Marinette was glad.

Finally, Marinette reached her seats, "Glad you could make it in time!" She told her parents.

"I was starting to get worried." Alya said. At that moment, the curtains opened and the band was revealed, with their colourful costumes on and instruments all in place.

"Oh, we are so proud, Marinette!" Marinette's mother said.

"Thanks mumma!"

"Hello," Luka spoke to the audience but Marinette was sure he was looking at her, to avoid getting nervous, "we are the Kitty Section and we will be performing our song..."

Marinette lost the rest. She was looking at her friends who looked excited to play. Juleka had her bass, Rose was on the mic, Ivan had the drums covered and Adrien was somehow playing a piano in the middle of this. Everything sounded wonderful and in no time, the audience was dancing to the music.

Luka was passionately playing his guitar and Marinette melted. Marinette drifted into her thoughts. Luka was wearing a more improvised version of their original mask which they wore during their concert with XY. While shoulder pads with blue and pink designs made him look like some punk rock-star. Of course all the other members were wearing the same costume but it looked so good on Luka. Handsome was the only way to cover his looks.

As the music played, Marinette looked at the starry sky and hummed to herself. She was thankful for everything (maybe not Hawk Moth). She was Ladybug. She was happy. She was satisfied. She was in love. She was miraculous!

So folks. This was the last chapter of the story. 1002 words are good for a finale.  Honestly, I got a bit emotional writing this. This story was my first book to cross soooo many views, the response was a-mazing! I hope you guys enjoyed and I'm sorry if the ending seemed off-putting... But this is not goodbye. Read on for a few surprises, and you reading the next few chapters would actually mean a lot to me. Hope you enjoyed the story. I won't do the regular format of closing the chapters because... well, I think it will change the effect of the last chapters. I love you guys. This story will probably be the most special one for me and you guys had a huge huge HUGE part in this.
