“Is there a problem?” Gina asked.

“I have been waiting for this call all day and they pick now to call,” Dylan said with a long sigh.

“Answer it,” Gina said. Her mind quickly flashed to the ploy she had used for her blind date a few weeks earlier, but she quickly pushed it out of her mind.

“Are you sure?” Dylan asked genuinely.

Gina smiled.

“It will cost you another beer.”

Dylan smiled.

“Thank you, so much. I won’t be long, I promise.”

He got up from the table.

“Keep her company until I get back,” he said to Lisa.

Lisa laughed.

“You mean keep an eye on her so she doesn’t run away.”

Dylan ignored the comment and looked at Gina.

“I am so sorry, but this is very important. I will only be a couple minutes.”

“Go,” she said smiling.

She heard Dylan say, “Hello,” as he walked from the table.

“This is Dylan Lambert.”

Lisa sat at the table and took a drink from Dylan’s bottle.

Gina gave her a strange look. She was beginning to have doubts about the relationship between Lisa and Dylan.

“So,” Gina said. “You and Dylan?”

Lisa put the bottle on the table.

“Me and Dylan what?”

“You seem pretty close,” Gina said, a questioning tone to her voice.

Lisa shook her head and smiled.

“Dylan is an absolute darling. I love him all the pieces.”

She noticed the look on Gina’s face.

“I am 22 years old. I love Dylan, but like an older brother.”

“Ah huh,” Gina half grunted, while taking a sip of beer.

She was very quickly leaning toward putting on her coat and leaving.

“You have no worry, Gina,” Lisa assured her as she picked at the paper around the neck of the bottle.

”I met Dylan about a year ago. I was working here, living with some friends and trying to get enough money together to go to the local college.

I wanted to study computers and maybe be a programmer or something.

Anyway, I had met Dylan a couple times here in the bar and I met Tyla as well.

One night I was at the front desk and I overheard Dylan on the cell talking to a client. There was suppose to be a meeting but Dylan was going to cancel because he had Tyla with him.”

“So you offered to sit with Tyla?” Gina asked.

Lisa took another mouthful of beer.

She nodded as she swallowed the beer.

“Yea. Dylan was able to keep his meeting and I got to know Lady Tyla. I have been sitting her ever since, when I can.

I only work here part time now. Studies and all.”

“So you got into college?” Gina asked, now curious as to where this story was going.

“I did, but the strangest part was I did not even apply,” Lisa said, smiling.
