Gina and Elaine looked at each other.

It was Gina who spoke.

“Okay, you two. What is going on?”

Troy led Elaine to the bar and helped her on a stool, as Dylan did the same for Gina.

He went behind the bar and took out some posters that were hidden there.

He held up a poster of a beautiful A-frame log style house and looked at Elaine.

“What do you think?”

Elaine was speechless. She loved A-frame houses and this one was magnificent.

Troy continued.

“It is an open concept in the main area with an addition on the back for the bedrooms and family room.”

He passed the poster to Dylan.

“Or,” Troy continued, “a more traditional home, still in the log style.”

He showed another poster of a house with multiple peaks.

“It is a more traditional log style home, but the upper floor bedrooms all have raised ceilings and an amazing view.

Both have tons of living space.”

Elaine looked at Gina.

Gina shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.

She then turned and looked at Dylan.

He simply smiled.

Dylan passed the poster back to Troy and spoke to Elaine.

“I know you and Gina are close and I couldn't stand the thought of you two not having your morning coffees, sooooooo…”

He turned to Troy.

Troy continued.

“The lot just past the gates of Rebel Estates is ours.”

Elaine’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.

She jumped off the stool and went around the bar.

“Seriously?”

Troy nodded and smiled.

“They start preparing in the spring. It was a gift from Dylan.”

Elaine stared at Dylan.

“Why?”

“It is important to have family around. And you and Troy are as much a part of Gina’s family as anyone could be. And hopefully part of mine as well.”

Elaine was in tears as she walked around the bar and hugged Dylan.

“I knew you weren’t an ass,” she joked to him.

“Thank you.”

Dylan smiled.

“You are welcome.”

She went to Gina.

“Well girlfriend?”

Gina was in tears.

“I wouldn't want it any other way.”

The two women hugged.

“So,” Troy said.

“Which one do you like?”

“I don't care,” she said through tears.

“You pick.”

“Okay,” Troy said.

“I choose the more traditional one with the multiple peaks.”

Elaine was shaking her head and wiping her eyes.

“Nope. The A-frame.”

Troy looked at Dylan.

“Told you.”

Dylan laughed as he jumped off his stool.

He walked to a closet near the bar and took a briefcase from the top shelf.

He put the briefcase on the bar and opened it.

He took out a CD and passed it to Troy.

Troy was puzzled.

“What is this?”

“Goliath Construction will be doing the structural of the new Rebel Building. The plans are on that CD. I would advise you to study them over the winter if you plan to be my right arm on this job.”

Dylan took a contract from his briefcase and put it on the bar.

“Read this over and if you have any questions, we can talk at a later date.”

It was Troy’s turn to be speechless.

Dylan closed the briefcase and stood behind Gina’s chair. He put his arms around her shoulders.

She put her hands on his and leaned back against his chest.

Troy and Elaine were looking at each other.

“Well answer him, dumbass,” Elaine barked.

Troy offered his hand to Dylan.

“I won't let you down boss.”

“I don't expect you will,” Dylan said as he shook Troy’s hand.

“Thank you, Dylan,” Troy said, tears filling his eyes.

“Okay, enough of this bullshit,” Dylan said.

He helped Gina off her stool.

“Come on chubby, let’s kick their ass in darts.”

Gina glared at Dylan.

“Chubby?”

“A joke, sweetie, just a joke,” he said quickly, defending himself.

“It better be,” Gina said in mock anger as she walked away from the bar.

“Just a joke, porky,” Dylan said quickly as he ran out of the room.

Elaine walked up next to Gina.

“You gonna let him away with that?”

Gina smiled.

“He has to sleep sometime.”
