Gina started laughing through the tears.

“Aren’t we a fine pair?”

Elaine dropped her arms to her side.

“So, when do I get to see this new house?”

“How about tomorrow night? You and Troy come up for dinner and stay the night. We have tons of room.”

Elaine nodded, immediately.

“Sounds like a plan. I will do my best to try and drag Troy away from the restaurant. They have a real push on it.”

Gina looked interested.

“Really?”

“Yea,” Elaine added.

“Troy said they have all kinds of crews in there. They seem to be pushing really hard to get it completed.”

“I guess I should drop in. I haven't been there for over a week. I have been so busy and we have made trips to Halifax and St. John’s. Dylan sees me looking at something on the internet and the next minute we are all on the jet off to wherever.

I talk to the girls at work every day, but they have not said a word.”

“Shit,” Elaine said.

“Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. Maybe Dylan is up to something.”

Gina smiled.

“Now that wouldn't surprise me, but you tell Troy that I said he has to come to dinner. Remind him that my boyfriend is the owner, so that makes me his boss by association.”

Gina started laughing.

“Don’t I sound like a bossy bitch?”

Elaine had to agree.

“Yea, but I guess you are right. Anyway, don’t worry about Troy. He will jump at the chance to get some time with Dylan.”

Gina looked around the apartment one last time.

“Let’s get out of here,” she told Elaine.

“I am done here.”

The women went outside and Gina locked the door. She then pushed the keys through the slot in the door.

“That’s it,” she said, sadly.

“Want a drink or something?” Elaine asked.

Gina pushed out her stomach. She was starting to show.

“Baby on board, remember.”

“Well what about a tea or something?”

Gina checked her watch.

“I can't right now, sweetie. I have to go grocery shopping. We have been eating out so much lately that I want to get some real food into my family.”

Elaine shrugged her shoulders.

“Want some company? I have to pick up a few things anyway.”

Gina smiled.

“Really? That would be amazing..”

“Let me get my coat and purse.”

Gina nodded.

“I will pull the Rav around front.”

“Okay, I’ll meet you downstairs,” Elaine said quickly.

“Won’t be but a few minutes.”

Gina nodded and headed down the stairs to the front lobby. As always, the elevator was broken.

When she walked in the lobby, Mr. Trang was there.

“Mr. Trang?”

The old man hurried to Gina and gave her a hug.

“Not going to be the same with no you or Brandon or little Melissa.”

“I know. I am going to miss this place and of course you, Mr. Trang.”

“You always my favourite, pretty Gina.”

Tears were filling his eyes.

“I will miss you.”

Gina bent down and kissed Mr. Trang on the cheek.

“I promise I will come and visit you.”

The old man nodded, but did not speak.

He turned quickly when he saw someone at the elevator.

“Elevator broken. You people too fat,” he yelled at them.

Gina gave him a quick hug.

“I have to go, but I will see you soon.”

“Good bye, pretty Gina.”

He hurried off toward his apartment.

Elaine came into the lobby.

“Hey you.”

Gina smiled, wiping a tear from her eye.

“I was saying good bye to Mr. Trang. I am going to miss him.”

Elaine smiled.

“Come on girlfriend. Let’s get that new family of yours something to eat.”
