"Oh, who's this?"

"I don't know— but isn't he the cutest thing?!"

"O-oh, why thank you, ladies..."

I faded back into reality and woke up in a white room, my vision finally started to piece itself together. Everything that was blurry became clear, and when I looked to my left, I noticed me mom and ma crowding Armin by the hospital door.

"Wait— Is this a fucking hospital room? Just how long have I been out for?' I thought to myself as memories came back to me from last night. It was overwhelming.

I sat up straight, completely panicked. I must have scared the crap out of everyone because they jumped and turned to me with shocked expressions.

"(Y/N)! You're up!" Armin smiled but didn't walk further into the room. It isn't like he could if he even wanted to, my mothers were literally right in his way. Then I noticed that he held something he was holding behind his back.

"Who's this guy?" My ma asked as she grabbed my mom's arm, backing away from the blonde boy to give him some space. "More importantly, how are you doing? You look like a deer caught in headlights!"

I slowly nodded, my ears were ringing and I could barely make out a word anyone said. To me. It all felt so surreal, like I was in a dream. I reached down and pinched my arm to check and see if I was rally even awake right now. I flinched in response to the sudden pain, I must be half asleep.

"...I'm....fine." My throat was a little dry, and I noticed I was parched. I looked around for some sort of cup but there wasn't anything for me to drink from.

Armin then pulled a waterbottle out of his adorable pouch and walked further into the room, still hiding something behind his back. He still seeme to be intimidated my my moms but once he had his back to them, they looked at what he was holding. Their eyes widened and they smiled up at me, giving me an approving nod.

'What?' I mouthed to them but they completely ignored me!

Blondie set the bottle down on the counter next to me and took in a deep breath, looking at my parents before looking back to me.

"I got you some flowers..." He smiled beautifully down at me, a little crooked and with rosy pink cheeks. He held out the pastel flowers to me and I couldn't help but smile back. "They're hypoallergenic so if you have any allergies don't worry!" He seemed to tune my moms out as they said their 'oohs' 'awes'.

"Thank you..." I replied as he set the flowers on a vase he also bought with. He looked so gentle, he must have some passion for nature. He carefully examined the flowers before settling upon the prettiest one and tucking it behind my ear, lightly caressing the side of my face.

"...so who are you?" My mom asked and my ma gently hit her over the head with one of the hospital magazines at her side.

"Don't ruin their moment!" My ma whined.

"I'm Armin Arlert, a friend! I showed up when...yknow..." He frowned upon recalling the memory. "Are you her parents? I could leave if-"

"You don't need to go!" My mom cut him off nonchalantly and waved her hand. My ma nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, we've been here since last night anyway. Haven't got anything to eat! We'll bring something back for you two as well." Ma grabbed her purse that hung by the door and put it on, handing my mom her purse as well.

Armin frowned a little, feeling like he had kicked them out.

My moms came over and kissed me on the nose. "You have bandages wrapped on your head, hun. Last night you scraped the back of your head but the doctors said it isn't anything serious. You're getting discharged later today, it's only 8 in the morning."

My ma nodded in response to my mom.

"So, what do you want to eat, kid?" My ma asked Armin, already knowing what I want. Armin got caught off guard a bit and looked to me.

"CHICKEN- uhm...chicken tenders." He replied sheepishly.

Then, they left to get lunch. Armin waited a few moments and then looked to the closed door, I didn't know what to say to him. He pretty much saved my life after I ran away like a child cause he talked to another girl. It felt awkward, and I think he might have felt the same way I did.

He slowly turned his head to face me right as the silence grew almost unbearable. His eyes rested upon the bandages on my face and his neutral expression turned into that of a frown. His hand soon rested on top of mine.

I noticed it.

His usually flawless and manicured hands were now messed up, this one in particular was bruised. Despite the world of pain his hand must have been in, he reassuringly squeezed my hand.

'This must have been the hand he used to punch that weird guy...'

My eyes eventually peeled away from our hands and I looked into his own eyes. Beautiful, blue, gentle eyes. I felt horrible that he had bruised himself to defend me, but the fact that he even defended me...he didn't seem like the fighting type. The silence now had more meaning, and I understood his concern over me, he looked to understand my concern over his hand.

Armin's lips parted slightly as he let out a faint sigh. He leaned in a few inches and it felt almost like a magnetic pull, I couldn't help but lean in as well.

"BABE!" Sasha's voice yelled as she knocked on my hospital door, effectively startling Armin and I. We moved away from one another without hesitation and it was almost as if nothing was about to happen. Armin laughed softly and shoot his head to me, pointing his index finger to his head and spinning it in a circle.

"Tell me about it, I live with her." I remarked and smiled at his hand signal and the thought of my gorgeous friend.

"LET ME INNNNN!" She raised her voice in the hall.

"Be quiet, Sasha, you're gonna get us in trouble!" Connie whined.

"She could be sleeping, yo—"

"Shut it, horse face! She literally almost died last night, I'll be damned if I don't get to see her before she passes!" By the time she finished her sentence Armin had unlocked the door and sope de it, stepping aside to let the trio on. I looked behind them as Sasha ran over to me with my favorite snack, pulling me into a gentle embrace.

"No Marco?" I looked to Jean who stood beside Sasha. He shook his head.

"Nah. But hey, girlie, you've got me— us..." Jean quickly corrected himself.

Armin carefully looked Jean up and down and looked back to me with a raised brow, before glaring back at Jean.

Hm.
