expected to reciprocate an ungiven kindness and respect
to lavishly offer it to those who so callously demand it of me
throw down my weapons and shrink myself to meet their gaze
only for it to meet the ground with a newfound servility
and I have to wonder, what drives someone to develop such audacity?
is it the ignorance of one's actions or perhaps their wounded pride?
well, whatever it may be
I'm not the one to cater to them with docility.
