ichor flowing through our veins
golden tinted treasure within our decaying bodies
nourishing our worn-out spirits and wasted youth
in the ides of march as the brazen sun hits our faces
determined to carve us into young gods untouched by time
you and i, hand in hand walking towards the olympian marvel immortalised in the memories of the mortals we left behind
