Today's poetic form is the Italian "Stornello". It's a 3 line stanza (or stanzas) with 11 syllables per line and a rhyming pattern of a/a/a.

An ego-death away from seeing the flaws,
witness the spoils of this purposeless cause,
villains despised are the ones who offer applause.
Whether it's out of ignorance or out of spite,
naivety, or ambition to be among the light.
The feeling of victory will die in a night.
Darkness will enshroud this temporary glow,
unsighted to the paved way you used to know.
The stygian truth on corrupted eyes will show.
