Today's poetic form is the "Landay"! Its origin is a bit ambiguous but it is speculated that it originated in Afghan, Indian, and/or Pakistani nomads. The poem is comprised of couplets (as many or as few as you want). There are 9 syllables in the first line and 13 in the second, the theme is usually about love, war, homeland, separation!

it felt like cutting an unseen cord
a cerebral thread connecting our spirits and minds

snipped by the gilded scissors of fates
leaving two lifeless strings hanging, unable to reattach

you were the fortunate end of it
because your incision was paired with oblivion

you just forgot while my heart ached twice
once for our separation and once for your passing

a severed bond that we won't get back
I wish there was a way to tie those threads into a knot.
