My arms I want to stretch and reach for the stars
capture one and cage it inside of my palms
design a cell with dainty fingers as prison bars
Implore it to lend some of its silver light to my soul,
so it can beam like the glittering orbs above,
make me one with the night sky,
and conceal me when the sun comes,
sway in-between planets and falling stars mourn,
let my wasted tears new constellations to form
until like a meteorite I burn
and to earth I once again return.
