salt in my blood and sea in my lungs,
as I hold my breath to enter a different world.
iridescent waters colored by the ever-changing skies
underneath this liquid rainbow, I wish to reside,
where serenity and peace are not opulent goods
but gifts generously given as is strife on land.
alas, my mortal bonds deny me this happiness,
bound to always seek what cannot come to be
like a curse that refuses me clarity.
