if you could see the azure sky through my eyes,
if you could smell the aroma of summer through my nostrils,
if you could feel the roughness of the sand through my fingers,
if you could hear the music of the august waves through my ears,
if you could taste the salt of the sea through my tongue,
if you could feel what I feel through my soul
then perhaps you would know what it's like to lust for life,
to win every dreadful battle
just to be able to forever sense those things that make me feel alive.
