34- After Hosu

       Later that night we found out that a broken rib had punctured one of The Hero Killer's lungs, causing him to go into a weird shock before passing out. He was arrested later that night and taken to a private hospital while the boys and I went to the general hospital in Hosu. I was separated from the boys to be taken into operation while they had their own wounds treated. I don't remember much after that night.

        When I finally came to, it was around 9am and my nurse had just came in to do her rounds for the day. My throat was burning and it hurt to open my eyes. It felt as if they were being glued shut. I turned my head the best I could to look over at my surroundings, remembering I was in the hospital. I looked down at my arms besides my body and saw they were wrapped in bandages.

         I had burns on my hands going up my arms, 2 broken ribs, a concussion, and a few broken bones. A few fingers, a broken ankle, and dislocated shoulder. And somehow I was able to survive all of that. I was knocked up with so many pain killers, I didn't even remember who came into the hospital to visit me. Apparently my brother ended up coming down to Hosu and staying in a hotel across the street from the hospital so he could be near by in case anything happened.

          While the nurse was changing my bandages, the sound of the door opening caused me to look over to see Iida, Todoroki, and Izuku making their way inside.
           "We just heard you've finally woken up, how are you feeling?" Iida asks me.
           "I've been better, but I'm alive. I'm getting really sick and tired of hospitals," I chuckle a bit causing me to wince, "no offense." I mumble over to the nurse who just lets out a small laugh.
"None taken. Don't move around too much and press that button if you need anything." She informs me before exiting the room.
           "How are you guys doing though?" I ask them once the nurse closes the door behind her.
          "We're doing okay but.....Iida.." Izuku answers but begins to lower his voice sadly causing my eyes to widen.
             "I was stabbed in my left arm near my brachial plexus, causing me to have limitations with my left hand. I was offered surgery but I refused." He informs me, looking down at his bandaged arm.
              "Are you crazy?! Why?" I ask him in shock. He looked up at me and gave me a weak smile. He looked so defeated, but determined at the same time. I didn't really understand it, but I admired it nevertheless.
           "Because I went after Stain alone, running off from my mentor and acted selfishly and out of revenge for my brother....I ended up getting Midoriya and Todoroki involved....even you.....I do not want to heal my hand until I learn and understand what it really means to be a hero. Till I've earned it and the name Ingenium." He responds.

       I couldn't help but smile as I listened to his words. His words were inspiring and it made me wonder if I even understood what it meant to be a real hero. All I could manage to do was blast away a Nomu and I would've been dead if it weren't for the fires.....but still.....Maybe I can learn a thing or two from his inspiring decision.

           The sound of the door opening brings our conversation to an end once Gran Torino, Manual, and......a dog?
            "I'm glad to see all of you're awake and in the process of a speedy recovery. I am chief of police of Hosu city." The dog says. What in the fresh, fury hell is this?
             "It's an honor to meet you sir, what can we do for you?" Iida greets professionally, per usual.
            "I would like to speak with the four of you about last nights events....As you all know it is illegal to act again anyone and make an arrest without a hero license, no matter how serious the matter or how dangerous the villain is." The chief spoke sternly. I couldn't help but feel my heart sink into my stomach and my cheeks burn in embarrassment as I lowered my head down in shame.
           "Is this some type of joke? There were lives at stake, heros getting injured and my friend needed us..." Todoroki spoke back harshly, clenching his fist in anger at the chief. I reached over and placed my hand on Todoroki's arm in an attempt to calm him down but instead he pulled away and stepped forward.
          "Todoroki wait." Midoriya attempted as well but it didn't seem to do anything. I could see the steam rolling off of Todoroki, causing panic to set in.
            "Wait a minute there kid, listen to what he has to say." Gran Torino intervenes. I let out a small sigh of relief and focus back on the chief who clears his throat.
            "Now that being said....I wanted to come here and thank you all personally." He says suddenly before he bows. My eyes widen as I stare in shock at what I was seeing. This couldn't be real. "You all risked your lives to save my city and stop the brutal murders caused by the hero killer.......Thank you."

       I looked over at Izuku and nudged him a bit causing him to look down at me and smile. Part of me couldn't believe that they were able to stop the most wanted villain all by themselves. Just proving how capable they really are.

         The chief of police then explained that all the credit would go to Endeavor and that none of us would be mentioned so we could continue attending UA and not have any charges pressed against us. Of course Manual and Gran Torino had some issues to face for our actions causing Gran Torino to yell Izuku's and I's ears off before saying how proud he was. Acouple heros from last night came by to say hello and thank us, causing me to feel slightly flustered since I was in such a terrible state.

       I couldn't believe this was happening.....sure no one knew what we did but.....for one night....We were heros.

I would like to apologize for the slow updates. I've been facing a lot of personal stuff and I just want yall to know that I'm still writing, I promise I'll get back into the swing of things but updates might be a bit scarce. Hopefully I'll get a schedule figured out and will get back into the swing of things.
