A sudden breath of warm air was what woke him up...

...to the sight of someone he loved.

"Lourdes?" was his first word. Even if that figure stood upside down, he'd know her. Right now, she's not facing him and he's hoping that this is all just a dream but when she turned around...

"What... why are you here? Where's D--"

"The doctors called me. Your log still has my information as your wife." She casually replied. He can't sense a single drop of hate from her voice. Nothing. Just.. plain, old Lourdes. No anger at all. His weak state right now can't decide if he's only hallucinating this and she's really yelling at him right now or what.

But if he's sure about anything, that is he wants to see Drea.

Where is she? is she okay? She's fine, right? God, please... he silently prayed as he got up, using all that strength that's in him now, planning to go to her already. He doesn't care about these tubes, or this cast cradling his left arm. He's capable enough to run anywhere now.

"Jay, what are you doing? You can't detach that--"

"I need to see Drea," he insisted. Lourdes smirked.

"New girl, huh?"

"Look, can we not do this right now?" He began getting his feet down the bed. He thought Lourdes was gonna stay and mock him but to his surprise, she helped him untangle the tubes and separate the dextrose to hang it on an IV stand.

"I'm not here for that, okay?" She smiled as if she's genuinely happy. "Relax. What do you think of me? I'm venomous. I am not incapable of moving on from you."

He stood up. "Then why did you show up when they called you?"

Lourdes tidied up his wrinkled dress. "This is the chance I got, Jared. I would try my luck finding you but the last I heard, our house exploded and I don't know where to find you anymore."

"What do you mean?" He asked, puzzled. Lourdes smiled for a second and then walked to the table next to the couch to get the file folder on the desk. When she opened it in front of him, he knew right away.

"You might just need a pen to sign it." Lourdes smiled. Jared was immobilized for a while. He would usually find a pen in his chest pocket but then he remembered he isn't wearing that right now. He grabbed the divorce papers from Lourdes and clasped the IV stand.

"I'll find a pen, where's Drea?" He asked in hitched breathing.

Lourdes' eyes wandered everywhere, trying to find in her mind who Drea is.

"Is that the girl with cute little eyes and--"

"Pretty, yes. This tall. Hair falls until here..." he gestured everything until Lourdes had her confirmation and just nodded to tell him that...

"She's on the rooftop, Jay."

And it wasn't Lourdes who answered. Michaela suddenly blew the door open and quickly ran towards Lourdes whom she hugged.

Jared knew that he no longer had a position in the room and so he ran to the elevator and pressed the button to the uppermost floor. He might need to take the stairs to the rooftop but he didn't care anymore. He can't even feel his stitches because he can only focus on seeing Drea.

He had encountered a few doctors and nurses in the elevator and all of them were left in shock with his ability to run and almost carry the IV stand he has with him to rush up the stairs that led to the rooftop. He's short of breath but everything became worth it when he saw her, on the near edge of the walls... under the dark, starry skies.
