"That was way too easy," Sophie muttered.

She was shaking her head. They had easily broken into Magante Leto's office, simply by Keefe picking the lock, and by giving a DNA sample of Magnate Leto's.

No alarms.

Nothing.

Sophie had not been pleased to know that Keefe knew how to pick a lock. Or that he had a jar of the Fork Man's spit.

Keefe didn't bother to tell her that he also had one for Sir Astin, and Forkle. He wasn't sure if the DNA was different in each of the identities, but it paid to be prepared.

Sophie cleared her throat, making Keefe realize that he'd been staring at her.

"Since we decided to be vigilantes, we might want to hurry up before we get caught."

Keefe flashed her a grin. "We won't get caught, Foster. The Keefester never gets caught."

"Liar."

They spun around, and there was Ro, glaring at Keefe. "You're going to pay for the ditching Prettyboy. You're lucky that Sandor didn't find me wandering around, because if he had, your punishment would be much worse."

"Told you," Sophie muttered to him. He could see her holding in a smug smile.

Keefe turned back to Ro. "Before you decide on anything drastic, this is for the big stuff. Black Swan stuff."

She snorted but wandered into the room before them.

Keefe plopped down on the Leto's seat and spun around. "Hey this is fun!" He pushed himself faster.

"You're gonna—" Sophie started.

The chair spun faster and faster, making Keefe dizzy.

Then the chair tipped over.

"Fall." Her lips curved into a smile. She stepped over to him and offered a hand.

Keefe stared up at her, his focus spinning in and out. "I'm seeing two of you right now."

"Well, both of us are trying to help you up."

"Which one do I grab?" He asked, reaching up. He missed her hand, and instead grabbed her forearm, and that, combined with the foot that Ro stuck out to trip Sophie, made her fall.

On top of Keefe.

Right on top.

As in, she was laying on top of him.

They both froze.

Sophie's breath brushed against his face, and suddenly, Keefe couldn't breathe.

Sure, she was draped over him, in a way that should've been uncomfortable, but it wasn't.

In fact, if he'd been able to breath, he would've almost enjoyed it.

A strand of her hair brushed his face, her hands pressed on his chest, one on his right shoulder, the other directly over his heartbeat.

And his heart was beating fast.

Sophie exhaled slowly, smiling timidly.

Everything in Keefe ached to kiss her.

Ro broke the moment. "Y'know, the romantic tension between you two is awkward and just plain adorable."

That jolted them both, and sent Sophie scrambling up.

Keefe sent Ro a glare and stood up, but Ro just stuck her tongue out at him with a face that clearly said, "Tell her!"

He ignored that look.
