"Well, well, well. Look who we have here."

He knew that voice. "Shut up, Ro."

"Mm-mm. This is definitely canoodling if I recall the definition correctly."

"We've cuddled before." He said, eyes still closed. "Now go away."

"Oh no. You two have held hands, or hugged. You've even sat next to each other with love sick expressions while holding hands under the table. And don't get me wrong, Sokeefe forever, but you two have never cuddled like this.

"Leave us alone," he whined.

"You know, it's pretty cute. Blondie drooling on your shoulder," Keefe smiled at that imagery, "the babies cuddling against you. If you could see it, you'd probably draw it later." Keefe peeked his eyes open.

Ro smirked. "I knew it. Now, I love this little Team Foster-Keefe time, but Cadence and Forkle are about to be here, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to have to explain this too."

Unfortunately, she was right.

It'd be really annoying to have Forkle ban Keefe from kissing her.

Keefe nudged Sophie. "Foster, get up."

"I am up." She grumbled. "And I don't drool."

Keefe glanced down at the dark spot on his shirt, but wisely chose to say nothing. "Why didn't you say you were awake?"

"I was comfortable." She sat up, yawning and rubbing her eyes. Keefe was glad to see that she seemed pretty well rested; the dark spots that had frequented her under eyes for the last, well, year, seemed to have lightened, even if slightly.

Keefe leaned over and kissed her cheek, before he stood up and offered her a hand up. Sophie took it, brushing through her hair with her other hand.

"When are Forkle and Cadence going to be here?" She wondered aloud.

Keefe felt a rush of emotions swoop over him. "Probably right about now," he said.

Sophie winced as a loud voice filled the clearing. "Sophie Elizabeth Foster! Keefe Cassius Sencen!"

Keefe shot Sophie a wounded look. "I thought you'd extent going to tell anyone."

"I didn't," she protested.

"Man, sounds like he's angry," Ro commented. "Also Cassius? That's a whole other level of cruelty."

Sophie and Keefe gave her twin baleful looks.

Forkle puffed angrily, followed by a resigned looking Cadence.

"How much you want to bet that he faints when he finds out what we tried to do?"

A faint smile touched Sophie's lips, but it disappeared when Forkle yelled at them.

Ten long minutes of berating later, when they'd sat down, and Keefe had begun staring listlessly into the cold embers from the flame the night before, Cadence cleared her throat. "I think that they get the point."

"Reckless, stupid, dangerous, and I should put you both on leashes," he fumed.

"Imagine that," Keefe muttered. "Like little puppies. But hey, we got Dex."

"You go on missions when I tell you." Forkle said, deadly serious. "You obey when I tell you something is too dangerous. YOU DON'T RUSH OFF WITH DELUDED IDEAS OF RESCUE!"

Sophie scoffed. "So we leave them to die? They were about to kill Dex, Forkle."

He opened his mouth to answer, clearly still furious, and she snapped out, "Don't you dare say you don't care. Because I promise you will regret it after I'm down with you."
