"Not everyone is meant to have a happy ending."
Dating is difficult.
Dating with a child? Even more so.
Victoria James was already willing to give up the dating scene at the age of twenty-four until her best friend had persuaded her to try just one...

The music thumped loudly on the hotel rooftop as Taehyung stood off to the side watching people try to live out their younger days, dancing with each other rather provocatively despite being at a work function.
A few of the middle-aged women tried their best to persuade him to join them in the party but he graciously denied their offers while trying to not laugh at their failed attempts to dance sexily in front of him. It wasn't even the age gap that bothered him, he's seen many older women beautiful enough to make him do a double-take, but the ones that he was required to attend this gathering with just didn't do it for him. Not to mention the fact that he was now a very much happily taken man.
Sorry ladies.
It was thankfully the last day of the business trip and the endless meetings, presentations, small talk, and buffets of bland food were finally coming to an end. All he had to do was make it through the night.
Chasity had found another young assistant to mingle with and she and the pretty young woman seemed to be hitting it off rather well. He takes another sip of his alcoholic beverage, the fourth one of the night, and tilts his head as he watches the two of them dance together. Chasity leans her head back as her backside sways with the girl's front, lost in their own little world. He'd be lying if he said the sight wasn't intriguing, he is a man after all, but he shakes his head of his drunken thoughts and chuckles, downing another sip.
Chasity whispers something in the woman's ear as she grabs her hand and pulls her over to where Taehyung is standing, making him straighten up his posture and attempt to blink away the intoxicated haze taking over his limbs.
"Taehyung, this is Jamie! Jamie, this is the coworker I'm here with, Taehyung!" Chasity shouts over the music as Jamie stretches out a hand to shake Taehyung's.
"Nice to meet you! Are you guys leaving in the morning?" Jamie questions as her eyes travel back and forth between Taehyung and Chasity.
"Yes, thank God!" Taehyung laughs and covers his mouth as if he didn't mean for that to actually come out.
"Ah, first time at one of these?" Jamie quirks a brow and takes a beer bottle out of the silver pail on the open bar.
"Yes!" Chasity and Taehyung shout back in unison.
"It's not so bad if you remember that no one here really gives a fuck about being professional. Let loose! Enjoy the free shit." Jamie exclaims, holding up the free beer as she pulls Chasity closer to her body, wrapping her arms around the shorter honey-blonde assistant, "Why don't you join us for a dance, Taehyung?"
"Nah, I'm good. I'm a little drunk right now anyway. I should probably sober up." He grins at the two of them.
Chasity's brow furrows as she pokes out her bottom lip, "Don't be such a stick in the mud! We made a lot of progress. We're friends now, right?"
