Chapter 26

"What the hell man?! You scared me!" I shouted and tried to hide my upper body with my hands.

<< I scared YOU?! You raised your voices and stirred up the whole forest >> said Aris and I came out of the shed

"What are you doing here anyway?" I asked him

"I could ask you and the same thing'' he said

<< I like night swimming and the sky is beautiful so I went out, ok? So what is your excuse? >> I replied

"I do not have to tell you," he said

"You think that I had?!" I asked angrily

He did not answer and his gaze fell on my body. A crooked smile formed on his face

"Are you naked?" He asked slyly

"Yes, I did not think that the lake would be crowded at night" I said "and you stop looking at me like that!"

"From Where you came from, don't you have a swimsuit?" he continued to joke with me.

"We have but I wanted today to throw it all away and dive, is there a problem?" I asked, answering the same ironically

"Absolutely not" he said, raising both of his hands trying to play innocent while continuing to look at me anywhere else than my Eyes until at one point his face shone and he looked at me normally saying

"So if you are naked... your clothes will be somewhere around here ..."

<< Yes ...? Where do you want to end up? >> I asked cautiously

"Don't rush, you will see" he said playfully

"Ares, what are you going to do?"

I saw him looking in the trees until he found them on a rock and picked them up, now approaching the shores of the lake.

"I think they want a wash, don't you think?" He said laughing and raised his hand with the clothes hanging over the lake.

"Don't you dare ..." I said but it was already late. He threw them inside. Luckily I swim fast and caught them before I lost sight of them and took them out

"You are a complete idiot," I told him

"Oops" he did to me and turned to leave. Oh no! He will not escape from me so easily. I concentrated as much as I could in the water around me, my eyes sparkled and with one movement a whip of water grabbed him by the leg and threw him into the lake. He didn't understand where it came from. I do not believe I did it! I wanted to cry from my joy and laughter but an angry Ares emerged from the surface of the lake, changed my plans

"Oops," I told him, and he shrugged

"You do not know with whom you have dealt," he said

"Neither do you" and at that moment he dived, grabbed me by the ankle and took me inside the water. Luckily I could hold my breath for quite some time. I kicked him and climbed to the surface.

<< Are you mad !? >> I shouted at him

"Calm down" he says "why are you doing like that?"

"You would drown me!"

"You are a damn water fairy! How can I drown you if you breathe under the water ?!" he asked indignantly

Right...I forgot that ... I did not speak at all and I went and sat in the shed. I noticed him taking off their clothes and staying in his underwear while swimming

"What are you doing?" I ask him

"It's not my fault. If you didn't throw my clothes inside the lake, you will still be dry on the shore.>> I answered and saw him coming sitting next to me. There was not much space so we were close to each other and I just hoped he did not understand how loud my heart was beating

"Will you tell me now what are you doing here?" I turned to look at him

"There is no way you will stop asking me if I do not tell you Eh?" He exhaled and looked at me. We were now within walking distance.

"Tsk" I denied him sweetly and he smiled.

"I did not sleep well and I said to go for a walk, ok?" He said and I nodded. None of us talked for a while, we just stayed to look at the moon. My eyes sparkled again, this time purple, and he noticed it and was angry

"What did I tell you to stay away from my head !?" he shouted

"What is your strength?" I ignored him and my eyes continued to shine.

"What?!" he asked angrily

"What is your strength?"

"Do you have the audacity to ..."

"Just tell me" I interrupted him "and I will explain to you why I ask you and you will calm down, you will see"

He did not speak for a moment and then replied:

The desire to tell him was overwhelming the one that was telling me to keep it a secret from him, so I spoke to him

"If I tell you you will make fun of me" I told him and I turned from the other but he grabbed my chin with his hand and brought me close to him.

"I will not do it I promise" he said and let go of his hand

Not ironic laughter but a normal and cheerful one...
