Unlike death by gunshot or knife, hanging is considered to be a cleaner method with no blood or obvious damage to the body. This is usually chosen by those who don't want to leave a trauma for others to experience or don't want to alter the appearance of their bodies. However, sometimes this does not work out as they had planned.

life wasn't easy, and sometimes you just couldn't see past the pain. It was a different reality that many didn't understand, the only thought running in the mind was making the anguish go away, wanting the pain to stop once and for all

Tokoyami was tearful and overwhelmed by these negative thoughts daily, he felt useless and not needed, having no purpose in his life and that everyone would be better of without him

he buried these thoughts in his mind and they simply grew and grew, spiralling out of control until it was too much for him to take anymore he prepared a rope and emptied his closet, he didn't want to bother with a note, not believing that it was any point, who would read it? no one would miss him

in the closet he prepared the chair and rope, standing upon the wooden furniture and tied the rope around his neck

Mina noticed that something about Tokoyami wasn't right

yes the raven head is dark and mysterious

but the way he was acting was different

he was more depressed than edgy

she couldn't even remember the last time she had seen him enjoying an apple in a tree

Mina was worried and decided it was time for her to intervene

she and tokoyami were classmates and next to door neighbours

Mina was tokoyami's only true friend since they were 6 years old

"tokoyami," she asked as she knocked on the door

there was no answer

the apartment tokoyami lived in was small and dirty, many of the furniture was broken and hardly anything truly worked

when she entered she was surprised to see no one there

Mina looked around in confusion before she heard grunting

it was coming from the closet

Mina a little fearful opened the closet

only she was horrified to see what was inside

Tokoyami was dangling from his closets ceiling

her instincts kicked in only a second later, she went to him and began to Lifting him with her arms to put less pressure on his neck and to carry his weight, only when he was properly balanced did she use her acid to get rid of the rope

when it was gone she slowly and carefully lifted him lower so she was holding him like a hug, his lower half resting in her left arm as her right arm kept him upright to ensure he could get air

she prayed that she wasn't too late

and they were answered as tokoyami began to breath deeper, gasping but breathing
