snowy feathers

in the early stages of winter, the bare branches started to be covered with freezing snow as tiny snowflakes trickled from the sky

a clear sign that winter break would too be upon them

the class of 1-A already has a head start on the festivities, deciding to have some fun in the snow before the start of class

but as they threw their snowballs and made snowmen, something more magical was taking place

as the snow continued to flow and cover the land, landing on students' heads and coats

One head took a much more interesting change

slowly as if being drained the inky jet black colour of their resident raven was slowly transformed to an icy white, like tiny crystals reflecting sunlight like the snow floating in the wind

causing him to somewhat blend into his surroundings, if not for his blood-red eyes and beak which only became more highlighted during the change

"tokoyami-" kirihima began with suprise

"yes?" tokoyami asked as he noticed that all attention was on him from where he was trying to stop darkshadow from throwing snowballs with water

"your feathers" Mina added with awe

"Hmm, oh yes, I forgot that this happens" tokoyami continued as he realised what they were referring to, only to become self-conscious, about to cover his head with his hood before shoji stopped his friend's hand in tracks

"There is no need, it is quite mesmerising," shoji told reassuringly

"Why exactly did they change?" Midoriya asked with curiosity

"I am not sure honestly, it is only when it snows do they change colour pallets" Tokoyami explained with confusion of his own

"well you look beautiful, a different light to your usual darkness

"not that the darkness is any less beautiful, it is just a difference to your usual look" Ochako commented, trying to be friendly although worried about how it came out

"I understand, and thank you for, I think" Tokoyami thanked, his feathers poofing slightly at the compliment

with that, the day continued with the activities

although when it came to class they were surprised to see that the raven's feathers did not revert but continued their snowy glow

tokoyami explained that as long as the snow stayed, so would his new colour pallet

but it also gave new ideas for snowy fun

since tokoyami could camouflage so easily now, they decided to play hide and seek

tokoyami changing into more white clothes to help with the activity

which went as well as you could imagine

no one found him, going on for hours on end, only to realise he was sitting in a tree-like a snowy owl, hugging darkshadow as he too change colour pallets

"how long do you think they'll continue until they give up?" the dark shadow asked with boredom

"how long does winter last" tokoyami chuckled rhetorically as he caught snowflakes with his tongue
