Bort, boart, or boort is an umbrella term used in the diamond industry to refer to shards of non-gem -grade/quality diamonds. In the manufacturing and heavy industries, "bort" is used to describe dark, imperfectly formed or crystallized diamonds of varying levels of opacity.

it was something tokoyami knew from the day he was born 

his feathers and head made of it 

his body was made of a black diamond

 cinnabar was what his core was made of and eyes (mercury) 

the first time he ever got a scar, liquid gold and mercury would form to create golden cracks on his body 

he was a living gem, so much so that he wouldn't even shatter if a wall of concrete falls on him

it was a fact of his everyday life 

it was nothing he truly thought of like the others 

when people looked at him they were instantly taken back by his sight

but tokoyami never liked the attention 

but his appearance was not the only thing this gift adapted 

whilst fighting a villain with his classmates, he had said unspeakable things that caused tokoyami to show no mercy 

momo was trapped under the rubble of the villain's quirk as many of his classmates were 

but the villain had threatened to do unspeakable things to her, as he moved to do such actions

even with metal being stuck into his body thanks to another part of the villain's quirk, tokoyami was still conscious to hear these heinous acts 

and that was the last straw 

he let out a cry of rage as he created crystals around him, the dark crystals with golden lines killed anything in his path, gaining the attention and shock of the villain 

"How dare you suggest such vulgar actions, you filthy tyrant!" he screamed 

"and now you will pay for your crimes" he stated as a flurry of crystals flew towards the villain, the gems soon starting to appear from the villain's body, killing him off instantly

as the villain took his final breath the rubble started to break apart, freeing its captives 

"Are you ok?" tokoyami asked momo, who was now free and holding herself tight 

"I'm ok, thank you," momo said as she held tokoyami close, tears in her eyes 

but a giant amount of concrete began to crumble, creating a landslide heading towards them 

"lookout" tokoyami shouted, shoving momo to the side whilst taking the impact 

"tokoyami!" they screamed as they watched him be washed away 

they ran straight after him to try to save them 

but when they found him they saw something that would haunt them for the rest of their lives 

a beheaded tokoyami with metal rods in his body along with a missing arm 

the class cried for their fallen friend 

they were going to give him a proper funeral 

at least before momo had an idea 

tokoyami's body needed to be put back together before giving him a funeral, as well as take out all the metal that had been coursed through his body

after taking out the metal they searched high and low for the head 

they finally found it in a hole of the rubble

but even though they didn't want to look, the parts where the body had separated looked so jagged, just like the crystals he had used to save them 

once they gathered the parts, they began putting himself together 

but once all pieces were reattached a miraculous thing began to take place 

the gold liquid seemed to appear, covering where the breaks and injuries that were there before

and once the gold had settled tokoyami's eyes began to slowly open 

"hmm, morning" he let out with a little yawn 

his classmates only took a moment to simply stare at tokoyami before all charging towards him with tears of happiness 

"did I miss something?" he asked with full confusion, it seemed that in all that time he was "dead", he was simply asleep
