"tokoyami" Shoto stated as the lesson ended

Tokoyami was walking with Shoji, midoriya, occhoko and Asui when he heard his name be called

"Todoroki" Tokoyami responded as he waited for the half and half boy to catch up

"can I talk to you about this weekend?" Shoto continued

"of course, please excuse us," Tokoyami said as he walked with Todoroki, waving the others goodbye as they went their separate way

"what about this weekend?" Tokoyami asked with curiosity

"I'm inviting you over for dinner, Saturday at 17:00" Shoto invited

"oh that's very sudden" tokoyami stated

"Are you unable to make it?" shoto asked, who seemed slightly disheartened

"Oh no, I am free, just surprised you choose me to invite" tokoyami admitted honestly

"I believe we have grown to be friends, perhaps more than Bakugo-" shoto began to explain before the voice of Bakugo shouted an "I'm not you're friend Icy Hot" through the hallway

"And my brother is bringing his boyfriend so I thought I would bring mine" shoto continued to explain

Perhaps a little too straightforward with how he described their relationship

"I'm not your romantic partner todoroki" Tokoyami stated with a flight flustered tone

"I know, but you are still a friend in which is a boy" todoroki continued to state

"You can tell this guy doesn't get out much" dark shadow internally laughed

"well, I'm honoured by your invitation anyway and can you confirm where it will be," Tokoyami asked, getting back onto the subject

"I'll send you my address," Shoto said as he got his phone out

"Great, see you then" Tokoyami replied as he received the address

and with that, the two parted ways

And waited for the weekend

tokoyami arrived at a traditional Japanese house with outside views from walkways and a garden in the middle, roses in hand to give to the host in hopes to seem like a good guest

he had to admit, he was a little worried about entering, especially with the tales, Bakugo and midoriya reported back from their time being in the house

but he wouldn't say anything, he didn't want to seem ungrateful or rude, especially with how shoto saw them as friends which wasn't a secret that he didn't have many, yes there was a class full of them, but to truly gain todoroki's friendship was an entire challenge of its own

One that Tokoyami didn't realise he had achieved

Regardless he ensured that he wore his good clothes and that his feathers were as always perfect

so with a breather he walked to the door and knocked three times

waiting for someone to answer him he was grateful that it was shoto himself to open the door

"tokoyami, glad you made it, follow me," shoto said as enthusiastically as he could

Tokoyami nodded as he entered, putting his outside shoes to the side and the inside shoes he brought with him on

"by the way, I forgot to ask, you don't have any allergies do you?" shoto asked as they entered the house

"No, I do not" Tokoyami answered as he took the sight inside the house, it looked exactly like his room back in the dorms, therefore it was a clear sign that he valued home and to let those in was a big deal

But as they entered the living room he was surprised to see a figure he would have never...actually no it made sense

But it still caught Tokoyami of guard

"hawks?!" Tokoyami couldn't help but let out with shock

"tokoyami?!" Hawks also let out, matching his surprised tone as he saw his intern enter the room

"oh yeah, hawks are here too" Shoto added as he continued to put his coat in the closest

"Maybe you should inform interns that their mentors are going to be joining us for dinner" a white-haired boy laughed at the reaction, this being Natsuo, the 3rd eldest of the todoroki siblings

"I didn't realise shoto was bringing a friend," the voice of another member said before they entered the room

Fortunately, or unfortunately, Tokoyami knew this voice even before he entered the room

Toya Todoroki, or as he was now going by as Dabi entered the room

And when the twos eyes met, that was all that needed to be said

Tokoyami knew Dabi was being "reformed" and all, but that didn't mean that Tokoyami trusted a word of it, especially as he was one of the many victims he had inflicted pain onto, he still had the burns too

He was there when hawks had convinced Dabi to come over to the good side after being attacked by twice

Hawks believed there was still hope for him, and apparently so did his family (which he should have seen as a given) so it seemed Tokoyami was going to be the only one on the edge

"why'd you bring the other bird?" Dabi asked, although internally thinking the todoroki's may have a type

"you brought your bird boyfriend, why can't I do the same" todoroki asked blankly

this caused tokoyami's feathers to poof in embarrassment "not this again!" He internally screamed, but now they were in front of shoto's family and his mentor!

"boyfriend?!" They all simultaneously asked with amusement and shock

"we're not dating!" Tokoyami assured whilst trying to keep a calm composure, it was not working

"really, cus it sounds as you are" Hawks grinned playfully

"no, todoroki please tell them that is not what you meant!" Tokoyami pleaded, actually grabbing his arm to pull him to his level

"We are not dating" shoto announced

"yet" Dabi commented

Which did not go unnoticed!

shoto's sister and other brother smiled with amusement

"anyway, foods ready so let's head in" fuyumi, the second eldest todoroki said, coming to Tokoyami's rescue

As they walked hawks continued smirking at his intern whilst tokoyami did all he could to avoid the big birds gaze

Shoto looking unphased as usual

"Woah, everything looks amazing" Tokoyami stated as he saw the spread on display, both because it was and to distract them from the recent events

"oh, this? it's nothing" fuyumi said bashfully

and so they all sat down to eat

as they chatted and bantered Fuyumi couldn't help but be glad had her brothers had such good "boyfriends"

especially with everything that they had all suffered through

she was grateful that the warm and vibrant feeling of a family and friends meal had finally come

and she couldn't wait for more family meals like this one

and hopefully, her mother and father would also join the warm atmosphere and continue to keep it light and happy (the latter completely referring to endeavour and her sibling's relationship with him)

but for now, she was happy for how it was now

the fire ice benders and the birds meeting she would call it, and she simply couldn't help but chuckle joyfully at the thought
