A few weeks pass and you hadn't had the chance to bring up the bet you had heard about. It irked you, not knowing what the boys were talking about. Then again; you could've heard it wrong. Kuroo has been the sweetest boy so far, would he really do something like this? That day and the bet brought a whole lot of anxiety with it.

You wanted to talk to Kuroo, but you didn't want your heart to break. You were finally opening up to love, letting someone inside your heart. You didn't want the joy you felt to end. You weren't prepared for his answers. If there was a bet then you would feel like a fool. A fool for believing someone who was just playing with your feelings like it meant nothing to them.

''Y/N, what's on your mind?'' your co-worker asked you as she watched you wipe the same spot on the counter about 50 times, the wet cloth probably dried up by now. You were lost in thoughts and she finally snapped you out of them. You chuckled uncomfortably, feeling like you probably looked like a clean freak to the customers of the convenience store you work in. You had gotten this new job to get some distraction, although you knew it wasn't only for distraction. Having a job with long working hours meant you had less time to spend with Kuroo— something you originally never wanted, but since that day- you felt like you needed space.

''I'm sorry, it's nothing,'' you puff out, then clapped your hands together after you throw the now dry cloth into a bucket behind the counter, ''don't worry about me.''

''Oh, I don't,'' she smiled as she raised both brows, crossing her arms in front of her chest, ''I'm just making sure you don't scrub off the protective layer on the wood.'' You nod as you purse your lips together, watching her walk away to the back of the store, cleaning up the mess a kid had probably made. You sighed as you opened the cash register, counting the money the store had made today. It was already 11 PM, which meant the store was closing and you had to write down the amount of money that was made at the end of the day.

It wasn't a difficult task, obviously. It just needed some brain juice, which you barely had left. Considering you had been beating your brain up by thinking about every excuse you could possibly think of that would make Kuroo a better person than he might actually be in reality. You just didn't want the bet to be real. You wanted Kuroo to stay the good person you always thought he was. You couldn't see him as some kind of fuck boy. He wasn't like that, right?

''Y/N!'' your co-worker yelled as she stood next to the door, impatiently tapping her foot on the ground as she had an angry expression that would send chills down your spine if you didn't know better. She was a hothead, but if you saw past that, you'd see she's actually very sweet. She just always puts up a front for some reason. You weren't her friend, so you didn't care much about it. As long as you got your paycheque at the end of the month, you didn't care. ''Y/N, I don't have all night. I want to go home.''

''Yeah, yeah,'' you yawned as you wrote down the exact amount of money in a little notepad before putting it in a drawer. You locked the drawer, stretched your body and walked to the door. You flashed the irritated girl a weak smile before getting out of the building. She was locking the place, which is why she had to wait for you to leave. If only you had the keys— she didn't trust you enough for that. Well, you didn't blame her. You could be a scatter-brain, your mind was usually all over the place.

You sigh as you go through the bunch of keys you have, trying to find the one for your front door. You jump slightly as you suddenly hear someone behind you speak. ''Y/N,'' you hear the familiar gentle voice and connect it to the face once you've turned around.

''Hi, Kuroo,'' you say awkwardly. Your awkward smile quickly drops as you see his troubled face. His hair was messy and it looked like he hadn't slept for days. You might be seeing things, but it even looked like you could see some tears brimming in his amber eyes. ''What's wrong?'' you ask him as you take a step forward, cupping his cheeks softly and staring worriedly into his eyes.

He chuckled softly, his eyes casting downwards as he tried his best not to show you any feelings. Although, it was impossible. His emotions were high and he realised there was no point in hiding it. You were going to find out anyway, he came to your house for a reason. ''My mom and I had a pretty heavy argument. It doesn't matter what it's about— I was just wondering if I could crash at your place tonight. If that's okay.''

You thought for a second, the thoughts about the bet coming back into your mind as you had forgotten about them for a moment when you had seen Kuroo's face. Was this just a part of the bet? Was he here to play with your feelings even more? ''Ugh,'' you groan, letting go of Kuroo's face, instead bringing your hand to your forehead. Thinking about all of this had given you an unwanted headache.

''I-I'm sorry. I can go to Kenma if that's better. I don't want to be a burden, baby.''

''No, it's fine. You can stay here,'' you force a smile before turning around and unlocking your door. The two of you quickly make it upstairs and try to stay as quiet as possible, considering both your parents are fast asleep and you didn't want to wake them up. You slowly opened the door of your bedroom and walked inside, Kuroo following you like a puppy— or a kitten.

You only realised he had bags with him as you heard him plop them down onto the ground. You didn't feel like now was the proper time to talk about the argument he had with his mother, so, you decided to let him have a good night sleep and give him the time to bring it up himself. You didn't want to force him to talk about something that might make him feel uncomfortable.

''Turn around,'' you giggle as you point at the oversized shirt on your bed, showing Kuroo you wanted to change clothes. He simply nods and turns around, which causes you to knit your brows together. Knowing Kuroo, he would usually say something flirty. You brush it off quickly before stepping out of your clothes and slipping on the shirt that's about three sizes too big. You get in bed and wait for Kuroo to join you, feeling his warm body against your back made every ounce of anxiety leave your body as you surprisingly fall asleep very quick.

However, Kuroo doesn't fall asleep immediately. He stares up at your ceiling as he uses his arm to rest as an extra pillow. He swallows thickly before moving his head to face the back of your head, your hair spread across your pillow.

''I'm so sorry, Y/N.I love you.''
