''You look very cute, Y/N'' Kuroo grinned and your cheeks started to heat up, a faint rose colour spreading quickly. You roll your eyes playfully, getting caught off guard every time he gives you compliments out of the blue.

''Thank you, Kuroo. Ugh, what's up with you?''

''What?''

''You kiss me, you invite me to your house and you keep giving me compliments! Do you like me or something?'' you jokingly said and smiled at him. He raised one brow without saying anything back. ''Huuuh? You do?'' you snort and Kuroo squints his eyes a little.

''And if I do? Then what?''

''I'd laugh at you''

''Why?''

''Because we've only met a day ago silly! You don't know how annoying I can be!''

''Shit,'' Kuroo thought to himself. He was going too quick, but it just felt like they've known each other for longer than a day. His attempt to get this over with quickly was kind of backfiring. You were never going to date him after meeting him a day ago, apparently. This was going to be a little more difficult than he thought.

''So? Do you like me?'' you moved your body so you were sitting on your knees next to him, hands on your thighs as you looked at him with sparkling eyes. He chuckled lowly and smirked at you, ''I'm not allowed to have feelings for my tutor''

You narrow your eyes, ''that's so stupid. Anyway, do you need help with science?''

''Science?''

''There you go again. Whenever I start about helping you with science you act like I'm talking about something out of this world! You're the one who's struggling with it''

Kuroo scratches the back of his head, feeling a little stupid. Since he's very good at it, it sounds weird to him when asked if he needs any help. Even though it's him who asked you for help in the first place. He didn't want to choose a different subject, like a subject he actually struggled with because that would mean you would, in fact, teach him something.

''Yeah, I do'' Kuroo said and you sighed, taking your bag that was next to the couch into your hands and got your books out of it. You scooted over to Kuroo, a little too close for your liking but you wanted him to be able to see the book clearly. You swore you could feel his warm breath hitting your neck because of how close he was sitting behind you since your back was facing him.

He peered over your shoulder as he moved his body closer to yours and cheekily rested his head on your shoulder. Your body tensed up as your eyes widened as you swallowed thickly. ''Could you tell me more about this, Y/N?'' he purred into your ear as he pointed at a picture in the book you are holding. His hand brushed against your arm as he moved his hand away from the paper.

''Y-Yeah, sure'' you stuttered as you felt your face turn incredibly red. Luckily, Kuroo was sitting behind you, so he couldn't see your face. The afternoon continued with Kuroo making flirty comments and him accidentally touched your hands.

''So, the human genome is 99% identical to a chimpanzee's and—''

You went silent as you heard keys being put into a door, soon the door opened after just a second. You could hear hills click onto the wooden floor and you felt Kuroo move away from your body. You looked at him and he took in a deep breath, ''Seems like my mom is home''

''Your mom?''

''Mhm,'' the rooster haired captain said as he ran his hand through his hair and exhaled. ''I didn't know she was going to be home so early'' he admitted. You narrowed your eyes as you took your phone from the sofa and looked at the time.

''Well, it's 5:30 already''

The door that leads to the living room opened and revealed a beautiful woman with the same hair colour as Kuroo. She had an intimidating gaze, causing you to feel nervous already. You cleared your throat and stood up before patting some dust off your school uniform.

Before you could say anything, his mother already started to speak, ''Is this your girlfriend, Tetsurou?''

You could hear Kuroo groan behind you and stood up as well. ''No, mom'' he simply replied as he put both hands inside his pockets. His demeanour had changed ever since his mother had come home and you started to feel a little awkward. Like, the awkward feeling when your friend and their sibling are arguing type of awkward.

''Hi,'' you smiled to her and her lips curled up in the tiniest smile possible, ''My name is Y/N. I'm just helping Kuroo out with science since he's struggling with it. We're not dating or—''

''Science?'' his mother interrupted you and you stared at her, lips parted as you were interrupted so abruptly. You nodded as you kept quiet and you looked at Kuroo, who avoided eye contact. The tension in the room started to grow thick as everyone kept silent.

''Kuroo, since when are you struggling with science?''

''Since a while, mom'' Kuroo mumbled and he turned his head to face me, ''Y/N, I think you should go home. I'll see you at school tomorrow''

You nibbled on your bottom lip but decided not to question him. You left the house after saying goodbye to his mother and Kuroo himself. You wondered what his mother meant and why Kuroo changed so quickly when his mom arrived at their home. It was like he had become a whole different person in such a short amount of time.

Kuroo now stood in front of his mother, who had her arms crossed in front of her chest, impatiently tapping her foot on the ground. Kuroo groaned and put both hands back into his pockets as he avoided eye contact with the woman in front of him.

''You know what I told you, Tetsurou. If your grades drop then you have to say farewell to Volleyball''

''But—''

''Don't talk back to me. I've been very clear about this.''
