Megumi always sits in the middle when the first years are driving anywhere, especially missions. Maybe it's because he's the tallest, and he's the best to lean into after an exhausting mission. I think he takes a lot of naps during the day because he has trouble sleeping at night. And when Nobara and Itadori are just leaning on him, it makes it either easier to sleep or harder for him, no in between.
The other reason why he sits in the middle is because Nobara and Itadori get into too many fights when they sit together. (Hogging the tablet. Fighting over the restaurant, etc.) He's the mediator. Like they could kill everyone in the car if they're seated together, so for everyone's safety, Megumi is the divider, much to his dismay. Nitta always comments why Megumi looks so grumpy every car ride. He only grunts in response.
Megumo doesn't actually mind when his teammates do use him as a pillow, though if they anyone asked he'd be annoyed at that. He enjoys the peace and quiet.
